A place to chat about Beer from The Land Of Enchantment. Be it Good, Bad, or anything in between. I am a life long resident of The great state of New Mexico, and have seen this state go from a beer desert to a beer oasis in the desert. Thanks to many great breweries La Cumbre, Marble, Il vicino, Santa Fe Brewing Co, and many more. I Hope this can be a fun forum for New Mexico Beer and also a place for other BA's who need some info on beer in this state.

Us Texans run this place. Don't try to sneak in on our territory.

I am just waiting for La Cumbre to start distributing to TX. That will be a good day.

Just trying to make a place for NM heads since I am seeing more and more on BA.

If La Cumbre does start distributing to TX I hope its not the whole state, I don't want to loose my Jester King connects. But if they do that just means I will have to start making the 12 hour drive to Austin.

I doubt it will anytime soon. I see it going to Arizona or Colorado before TX...solely due to market size and the commitment to come in.

I think La Cumbre just started distro to southern Colorado. So Colorado seems first on LC's list.

Haha. This is exactly how you all treat NM in the real world too, like your personal playground and red-headed stepchild. Let my people go!

My in-laws own a place in NM so I am there all the time. But, I am pretty sure we are exactly the people you are referring to.

Hm that's interesting that Southern CO is getting La Cumbre - I think they will do well in CO and hope the whole state sees distro.

Good timing! I've got family farting around near Rui Doso and maybe Albuquerque/Santa Fe too. Any limited beers I should ask them to snag for me? Barring any yummy limited releases, maybe some good standards in the area?

    Thanks New Mexicans!!!

You can get La Cumbre Elevated IPA there. There also is a taproom for Sierra Blanca/Rio Grande in Ruidoso....they also sell (get excited) Guns and Oil there since that is where the beer is made (at the Sierra Blanca Brewery).

She got some La Cumbre at the Lawrence Bros grocery store. They also still had 10 or so cases of Beer Camp left last week and only one moved for the week she was there (and it is sitting in my fridge).

Full nelson comes out from La Cumbre Monday 8/25/14. I would ask some one to pick that up, as it will sell quick. you can find it pretty much any where in Abq and a few spots in Santa Fe starting Tuesday or Wednesday. If you like sours have your family pick up a bottle of Tesla $25 at Jubilation in ABQ. Jubilation in Abq just started selling Duel brewing beers from Santa Fe, the only other place then the brewery to get there bottles. Thats about it for rare or special release stuff for now.

I wonder how my buddy gets me Elevated from El Paso?

Is this a serious question? If it is, he drives across the border and there is a store there that sells it.

For clarification: The border to the best Mexico as opposed to worst Mexico.

As far as I know, he gets it IN El Paso and doesn't drive across. Fk if I know. Guess I should ask him instead. I've never questioned him when he says he is going to get it. I just throw money at him.

He crosses into NM. It really is like a 10 mile drive to NM from downtown EP. They have no approvals to sell in TX, unless he knows a place that sells it illegally.

the search on BA for Guns and Oil was not very promising. Only a few reviews and not very promising ones at that. You guys have better hands on knowledge to share on it?

Great thread idea.. No reason not to just randomly chat about stuff relating to NM beers.

^RE: Elevated in EP.. Would that be the same notion as people in NJ, NYC, and other neighboring states picking up HT in actual beer stores? Is it a state by state issue?

Miggs3030, wasn't Father Nelson a brewery only release? I believe it didnt get sold in any beer stores around town.. Full Nelson may be the same way. I kind of like that concentrated chaos. Especially assuming many beer stores still have 3-4 month old Project Danks.. I just wouldnt know where to look, and that hunt aspect sucks imho

 It is a lager that is claimed to be "from Austin" but is contract brewed in New Mexico.

That's why Susan's in Santa Fe is the best Dank is always fresh. Father Nelson was at whole foods, trader joes, Susan's and a few others.
