Hi all. Going to be heading to eastern New Mexico and will be driving through ABQ. Any suggestions on local beers that I should load up on in town before heading out to the lake for a week? Bottles preferred over growlers. Thanks Austin
La Cumbre's elevated ipa won a gold at the 2011 GABF. I believe it just became available. Maybe a New Mexican could chime in. Shunt?
Here I am! NM actually has some outstanding IPAs, including La Cumbre's Elevated IPA, which finally became available in 16oz 4pks last week. I would also recommend Marble's IPA, which is available in 6pks. Each can be found at Jubilation Wine and Spirits (for $10 and $9, respectively), as well as Modus and other fantastic canned IPAs. Other good picks would include Santa Fe's Imperial Java Stout (a delicious coffee stout) and Happy Camper IPA. If you are wanting to grab a brew elsewhere and socialize, shoot me a BM and we can do a small crawl or simply kick back at Il Vicino Canteen, which has 4 different IPAs on tap at the moment (one of which, Exodus, has won the NM IPA Challenge 3 years running). Jubilation is here: http://www.jubilationwines.com/store.html Cheers!
Thanks everyone. Do they bottle/can most of their stuff or is it pretty much Growler outside of Elevated IPA
La Cumbre cans only Elevated at this time. Santa Fe and Marble can/bottle most of their line, all of which can be found at the shop I linked to above.
Been slacking on the local posts! Definitely get you self some 4pks of La Cumbre Elevated IPA I just got another batch in at my store that was canned today!!! (7-5-12) Super fresh, Marble also makes some amazing brews which you can also find at my shop, Kelly Liquors on Juan Tabo just north of Constitution.
