Yeah, a couple months ago I guess all their employees (7 or8 I think) all quit at the same time from barley forge saying ownership was just a shit show

As we talked a bit on Saturday.....RIIP. I'm sure you've been to Beachwood by now. But 2-3 miles east of RIIP is Beachwood HB. And if you do visit RIIP and/or BWHB give me a heads up (Fri-Tue). RIIP opens up early everyday....11am.

Homebrew store with some bottles and cans to go. Like Windsor in Costa Mesa. But ten times better.

I am not and never was a fan of Barley Fart :poop::-1:. I did visit 3-4 times when they first opened the doors. Meh beers and good food. Mainly when not much was happening in OC/LA Barley Fart opened. As much as I didn't like B Fart I hate to see any brewery's go under. I supported Gunwhale more than B Fart. Isn't there another one time great OC brewery nearby? Bootlegs? Oh yeah...Bootleggers. That OG Knuckle Sandwich was killer back in the day. That and KRBC Citra DIPA. Kinda of reminds me of the lines at Monks.
    RIP Barley Fart........

10 times better seems a bit of an overstatement. What sets them apart in your eyes?

Just my opinion. That’s all. Maybe an overstatement? A hundred times better? Now that’s an overstatement.

Just curious as to what landed you at that opinion is all, as I don't see much of a gap between the two. I've had great experiences with both from the home brew perspective, and actually think Windsor bottle shop inventory is slightly better (though I don't get to O'Shea as much as I used to).

I haven't visited O'Shea's in over 6 years now. When I was home brewing I stopped in a couple of times, but my go to store was Stein Fillers in Long Beach. It was closer. Or I would just buy my supplies on line. I always thought the price at O'Shea's was higher than Stein Fillers. On line was definitely cheaper. I haven't bought anything as far as home brewing at Windsor. All cans and bottles. But I would always check out Scotts equipment and supplies. And Scott is a top notch guy with good can and bottle selections. And again its closer to my house. That's all.

Sorry, looks like I was confused. I was under the impression you were saying Windsor was inferior. Carry on.

In your guys' defense he actually said the other place was 10x better than Windsor in his first post.

i have a feeling a neighbor may have just said, "hey guys, let's make a deal. your clientele is meh whereas as ours is hoppin all the time; too bad so sad but, we'll buy you for a $ & keep it on the downlow & use their spot for main (additional?) internal/hr/type office.

Hoparazzi had terrible marketing. Their logo looked more like a nail salon rather than a brewery. They didn’t really specialize in hoppy beers despite their name. And lastly, their taproom was too sterile IMHO. Still, I enjoyed their beers from time to time (including the award winning chili beer), so I’m sad to see them go. Surprised? No.

You’re totally not factoring in the local clientele. There’s a lot of locals that frequent these places and don’t do flights.

I was a frequent BL customer but now go to X instead. The IPA are just as good if not better than BL and the space is way cooler.

Never heard of these guys before GABF awards on Saturday, Bravus Brewing in Newport Beach. Only catch is they are a non alcoholic Brewery. Not for me. But for others? Maybe.
