I'll be in New Orleans on Sunday 6/7/15 and leaving Monday. I plan on hitting up Stein's for some good beers but my main question is where do you like to eat? Looking for a family environment, will have my wife and kiddo's and New Orleans is our pit stop on the way to Destin, great food and drink. Planning on doing the Cafe du Monde Monday morning for breakfast. We all like seafood and cajun/creole food. We will be staying at the Embassy Suites as well. Thank y'all for the tips in advance.

    Prost!

    Mike

Peche is right near your hotel. Great seafood and decent beer options for a restaurant.

I've heard Sylvain has a great food and good beer as well, but haven't been there yet. But it isn't too far either.

Dominca has a great happy hour with half off pizza, Commanders Palace is always great, Manning's if you want the sports theme with a few local beer options, Deannies, Mother's, Ruby Slipper, and Peche always gets recommended.

Cochon Butcher on Tchoupitoulas (another Donald Link Restaurant in addition to Peche) and also Parkway Bakery and Tavern for some of the best Po Boys around (538 Hagan).

Commander's has stringent attire requirements and is not a place I'd take kids. Not to mention the beer selection is lacking, if that is a consideration. Great food high-end food.

Since it's a family trip no swanky food joints for us. Although Commanders Palace and K Paul's are calling my name.

Beer selection is lacking, but the attire isn't very stringent anymore... slacks and a clean polo are what you will see inside on many days/nights now.
