    .....yea or nay?

A thread to keep everyone updated as to new pubs, breweries, brewpubs and generally purveyors of good beery vittles.

Four new brewpubs planned for the Toon.

1 at The Trent House to be called The Leazes Lane Brewery or Trent House Brew Co
1 at The Northumberland Hussar pub in Heaton
1 at the (other) Newcastle Arms under the Tyne Bridge on the Quayside. This will become the Bridge Tavern, (not to be confused with the Bridge Hotel or the Bridge Inn) and will see a brewery installed with Wylam beers including special brews produced on site.

Across the road from the BT, the Offshore 44 will have their own microbrewery too with the Temptation Brewery having a hand in it.

1 microbrewery being set up by Newcastle Uni students called Stu Brew using their own home grown hops.

Firebrick Brewery in Blaydon is a newish brewery set up in the last year brewing amongst other beers, a black cask lager callled Number 9.

Out There Brewing in Ouseburn near The Free Trade In have been brewing some excellent craft beers of the keg and cask varieties for a few months now.

Fresh from a refurb the up til now pretty dull Fitzgeralds on Grey St, Newcastle is serving
Anarchy Blonde Star, Jarrow Rivet Catcher, Tiny Rebel Urban IPA, Sunny Republic Huna Red, Hadrian Border Ouseburn Porter, Cullercoats Shuggy Boat Special.

On keg there’s Vedett Blond, Liefmanns Fruitesse, Anarchy Citra Star, Brooklyn, Sunny Republic Beach Blonde, Houfbrau. It’s thought that the pub is the only one in the North East, and possibly the whole country, to offer Houfbrau.

Give it a try, situated down from Grey's Monument towards the Quayside on what was voted the UKs most beautiful street.
