OK...here is the NEW thread to talk about the 2013 (part 2) tasting.

    Who's in?

    Where? Beerhive again?

When is good for everyone? Just going to toss out...May 10th. No reason other than to just start the conversation.

I am definitely in. It would be awesome to have it outside. I may be able to host it at my house. We could have a cookout/tasting. Maybe do it on a Saturday. Just an idea.

Highland Park has pavilions you can rent, but I don't know if you can bring alcohol. May need a permit. I am sure there is a park somewhere or restaurant that has a porch. I want to be outside damnit!!!

The fall one was at 99 bottles which has a large patio

Don't know when they open their deck but bocktown is an option. Oh yea I'm in for the 10th or 11th. I have a wedding bothe the weekend before and after.

Beerhive is another solid option again.

Double Wide in the south side has a fairly large outside area if we want to entertain this outdoors. I am open for where ever, just let me know how I can help.

I should be in. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later, as my mid-May schedule onward is pretty busy. This weekend or next weekend would have been perfect for me, but at this point it's definitely not going to be feasible to put one together in that time frame.

Summer is not easy to get a large group of people together

Park Place Pub in Highland Park has a decent sized patio that they were supposed to open as an outdoor bar/seating area. I can always ask if they would be up for letting us use it. Beerhive is definitely another option, although no outdoor space that I know of.

Also, I am not married to the outside idea, but just thought it would be fitting given the season.

I really hope I can make this one.

I'd have to confirm details, but would there be interest in getting the upstairs of Winghart's in Market Square? I know downtown is a pain in the ass for parking and such, so don't want to start the process if it doesn't make sense for the group...

nevermind on the Winghart's idea...multiple reasons it won't work...sorry to sidetrack things...

    resume brainstorm...

I am interested in this. I will have to check the doc later, can't from work. I should be available most weekends.

I like the 99 bottles suggestion, they have an outside area. Plus it is outside the city so no parking issues etc

So Adam, have you officially taken the lead here? I think that's step one...determine who is going to organize, call around, etc...

Sure I can. We need some questions answered though:

Is a Friday best for everyone? I'm thinking either May 10th or May 17th right now. Does that work?

Do we want to go for the beerhive again or explore other options? If we want a new place, what area works best? I thought the beerhive worked out really well last time. Thoughts?

Will Kevin bring his awesome double IPA again?

This is also a good option. I like cookout/tastings.

I would be in for the 10th out for the 17th. As for the venue, not sure its all that important. I know for myself as long as people are going to be there opening up some awesome beers I could care less of the location. If we can find a place that is willing to have us thats really all we need. Outside would be nice, dont get me wrong. I love to drink outdoors, but its not going to determine wether I go or not. If someone is willing to have us all over to their house even better.

5/10 would work better for me...but I'm still a big maybe even if that's the date picked.

I dug the beerhive. Somewhere outside would be cool, but not necessary. I would really prefer not to go to 99 Bottles personally.

Probably no homebrew from me this time unless my Flanders is a little more developed by then...but I doubt it.

Either day would work for me as long as it is after work. I will have to find a DD, which means I would have to bring my wife or maybe catch a cab to my cousin's house, there is no way my wife would drive through Pittsburgh. 99 bottles would be the easiest because of transportation, I could get my wife to drive there, but I can make anywhere work if I need to.
