RR released a new sour today called Propitiation. It's a sour barrel aged porter. Comes in at 7% and is pretty tasty.

    Bottles or on tap only?

Tap only. Nice to have some good locals that don't vanish immediately. Now if only I could get a seat...

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the baltic porter Vinnie used in the blend for T25.

Could be. IIRC that was the best of the individual components.

Well I wasn't counting that one since it'll never be released solo.

Yes. It was far-and-away the best non-Sonambic served at that event. I remember drunkenly telling Vinnie he needed to sell the Baltic Porter on its own. To the OP: Would you describe it as sour-sour, or more some tartness and brett character complementing the roast? Because the Baltic Porter was more the latter than, say anything resembling Tart of Darkness.

My friend said that they had this available last August at Toronado. It was one of the blends that made T25.

The hell? I was there yesterday and it wasn't on the board. The guys I know there didn't mention anything either. Must have snuck this one out!

Looks like my plans changed for tonight...

It's really tart and sour at first, but let it warm up, and the porter essence starts to come out. Chocolate, leather and dark fruits. Really damn good. Vinnie does it again.

Also noticed today that pretty much all of the Sonambic barrels have been removed from the Coolship room. Perhaps we are getting close to a new batch of Beatification.

I noticed the same thing earlier and think it is on the sooner rather than later time line.

As far as Propitiation, I thought it was pretty good. It kind of reminded me of Zwet.be and Consecration mixed together. Hopefully it is still here this weekend so I can try it again and write down some better notes.

Drank 2 glasses on tap tonight at the tap room. Absolutely loved it. Nice and tart/dry up front but evolved into more choclatey/roasty porter flavors later on. Super drinkable and comparing it next to a Consecration and Supplication I preferred the Propitiation which surprised me. Obviously different styles and I'm pretty buzzed but this is definitely worth the trip to Santa Rosa.

I was wondering if something was going on in that room. The lights have been turned off in there lately, which is unusual.

Will be checking it out today. Facebook post confirmed that it is the t25 component, which leads me to believe their couldn't be too much of it

That's poor reasoning, as this is clearly a new batch -- the part that was blended into T25 would now be something like 24 months in the barrel. I doubt there's a ton of it, but the minimum size this batch could be would be about 15 barrels, which is the volume of the system at the brewpub, if I'm not mistaken. The pilot system, such as it is, is a 10-gallon homebrew rig, so I would be surprised if it were any smaller.
