$18 6 packs in PA, not sure why it's so expensive here.

So they can say they are consumer friendly, but really are not...unless you are a geek familiar with Julian dates.

If you can count to 365, there's nothing to Julian dates. The days of the year are consecutively numbered.

If you can find it in 6 pack format in northern NY, it's usually more like 14-15 dollars. Often sold as a single bottle for 3 bucks... At 12 bucks, I'd buy it from time to time, but That's about as high as I'd go. Especially since it's usually 3-4 months old when I see it.

Haha seriously. If we used Julian dating in the real world it would be one thing, but I'm pretty sure the standard in the US is mm/dd/yy (or yyyy). Why don't we just use this? The tiniest of tweaks in computer software can turn Julian dates into real world dates.

While I'll take Julian over Best By any day of the week, I beg brewers to give me real dates

Firestone Walker has the best dating I've seen... it's printed right on the label... "BOTTLED ON MM/DD/YY". Breweries need to stop printing a julian date on the neck of the brown glass bottle, where it can rub off and you need to hold it up to a light and squint to find it.

Let me remind you all that Budweiser does a "Born on" date in MM/DD/YY on every can/bottle. Clear as day.

When you own a brewery, you can use whatever numbers you want just like all of the other brewers.

But Julian dating is cool and gives the beer geeks something else to be knowledgable about. :sunglasses:

It's around $17 for a 6-pack at most places here in Charlotte. Sometimes you can grab a single can for $3.50. To me it's just not worth it, no matter how fresh.

I will always buy at $8 bomber of Victory At Sea, however.

I used to love this beer, now it doesn't taste anything like it used to me. Maybe my tastes have changed, maybe the beer is changed, who knows. Grabbed a sixer that was as fresh as I have seen it lately, but didn't do much for me. This beer is too expensive and IMHO overrated. How does Sculpin have a higher rating than Enjoy By? Enjoy By blows it away.

I feel the same way. Sculpin's a great beer, but sadly it's one that doesn't live up to the hype. It's around 14 dollars a 6-pack in my area. It's not a wallet breaker by any means. I enjoy it, but there's so many IPAs that you can get for 10 bucks a 6-pack that are just flat out better in my opinion.

I really like the labeling they've done with the cans, though. Looks like Sculpin and Coors made can love.

$16.99 here, no thanks. Love the dating codes, I agree just put the damn bottling date on the can or bottle, how hard is that?
