Anyone live near New Smyrna? I will be there this Sunday through Friday. Looking for some Funky Buddah, Cigar City or just some recommendations on bars or bottle shops near or between Orlando airport and New Smyrna Beach. Thanks for any replies or suggestions!
    Cheers,
    Kevin

You can find some Cigar City stuff, but other than that good luck. It's a barren wasteland IMO. Just don't find yourself at New Smyrna Beach Brewing Co. Well, unless you're desperate

There are a few options near the airport. Check the Tampa/Orlando thread before you throw in the towel

Contrary to what is being mentioned above, there are plenty of places to get bottles and drafts not far away.

In Port Orange there is House4Beer, World of Beer and Tomoka Brewing Co's new brewery.
Daytona Beach: Daytona Taproom and McK's and Total Wine.
There are several ABC package stores in the area. Some better than others.

I'd agree 3-4 years ago it was hard to find any craft beer but in my experience it's grown a lot recently.
Hope this helps. It's made my vacations much more enjoyable.

In New Smyrna, Half Wall is an okay spot as well, sometimes has some CCB and FB on tap

I was just there for memorial day. There's this place in New Smyrna Beach. I went to the location in Deland and there were 77 taps on the wall. Nothing crazy, but they had a good selection.

Also, go to JB's fish camp down on the south end and rent a kayak..... then drink some beer and eat fresh seafood. You can thank me later. Not much in the way of craft beer but they do have a couple of lagers like Blue Point toasted lager and some Key West beer. I saw a bunch of dolphins, a manatee and even a raccoon who was sleeping in one of the rafters outside by the water. Great place.

Not sure why the hate on New Smyrna Beach Brewing Co? I've been there 2 times and had growlers from there (my parents live in NSB) a couple of other times and think they are better than your average craft brewery. Their Peanut Butter porter is pretty nice.

Also, all the things I've had from Tomoka Brewing Co (in Port Orange) have been pretty delicious.

@Bartos - I agree with you on NSB Brewing. The PB Porter and their Shark Attack IPA are both good options. the Local ABCs should have a decent selection as well.

Not beer related, but dinner at The Garlic is one of the highlights of the NSB area. hit it up if you can.

Also, Knightly Spirits in Orlando is only 20 minutes from the Airport via the 417. Worth the detour if you want bottle/can selection.

I second the Garlic. Also, Spanish River Grill has amazing food (chef has been nominated for a James Beard Award for the Southeast region multiple times)

Tomoka has an Imperial Peanut butter banana brown called The King that is awesome! The husband and wife owners/brewers have culinary arts backgrounds. The food was really good there to IMO.

I wouldn't say "eat" more like "nibble"

Shark "attack" capital of the world but never anything major...just a couple stitches

Also, wanted to also second JB's Fish Camp. But of a trek south from NSBB Co. and the rest of Canal St. but it really is some of the best seafood anywhere. Lacks the sophistication of Spanish River or even the Garlic (think picnic tables and paper towels) but they offer some of the freshest seafood cooked properly.

First stop after Orlando, Tomoka brewing co. This place is awesome! Thanks guys. My trip is already better than the last. Definitely going to check out jb's and Spanish river which I think I ate at last time and was amazing. Thanks again!
    Cheers!

Hey, I just wanted to thank everyone for the ideas again, had an amazing time out there, highlights were definitely Tomoka and The Garlic! Both places were amazing. JB's was a little under par from what I expected, my fish was over cooked and so was my mom and girlfriends shrimp. Corn was undercooked as well. but it was a beautiful place and it lead us to a boat tour the next day which was pretty awesome. $20 for an hour and a half boat ride with lunch before! Overall your suggestions made my trip 10 times better, so thanks a lot BA, love this site!
    Cheers!!
