TDD are opening their Shawinigan store this week-end, called "la shop" and are releasing 3 new bottled beers, mellifera, a honey saison, le herisson, a new barrel-aged sour, and a beer named Albert 3, unknown style yet. They will also be filling growlers. Just figured some might be interested to know that. Should be visiting sunday.
For me, Limbes was outstanding, asw was volo 25th, while l'ours was variable depending on the batches. I've tried the batches 1, 2 and 4, and have 5,6,7 in the fridge right now. The last one was the best. Especially for the price, and the fact that there are not that many options for sour saisons in Quebec. I think I enjoyed even more "Le herisson", as the nose was a bit reminiscent of a lambic, with an acid balance almost evocative of hill farmstead's saisons. Overall less wild than volo, dulcis, bretteuse and limbes, but highly drinkable, very fresh.
The Bar Volo sour blend was really nice and of all places had one in Brussels at Moeder Lambic. Their new one, Le Coq is very nice.
I don't want to be a hater, but I have yet to try a TDD beer that has really impressed me. It's too bad, because their label designs are some of the best I've ever seen - makes me wish I liked the beer more!
I see where you are coming from, but I loved the BA La Butuese and Dulcis Succubus was dee-lish also. Just my $0.02; taste is subjective.....
I had the Mellifera last weekend, it was kinda meh. You can always tell that TDD puts a lot of care into their beer but maybe they're going to broad and not deep enough? As far as $$$. Fucking "A la fut" man. What do they think they're doing.
