I was just wondering the other day if there will be any new beer styles developed or have we reached the threshold? I feel like black ipa is one of the newer styles out there and that is what made me think where can we go next. I like the whole barrel aging movement going on and the expansion from bourbon to other spirits and wines, but I don't think those are new styles per se.

Were at the point of breaching styles. I had one a few weeks back that used Trappist yeast, mix up of grains, and American hops. It was a mess of ingredients, but one damn fine beer. Mystery Brewing Company Gentleman's Preference if anyone was wondering.

i think American breweries will develop more Belgian inspired brews which are here and growing already

I think more blending of English/American Milds or Pales or Table beers will spawn something in the future.

    Cheers!

I would like to see a combination of new ingredients and or brewing techniques used to develop a new style.

And for me I would like to see a beer with Italian liquers such as the amaro's which I believe can add depth never before realized.

Would be cool to see an evolution of the term "American Wild Ale", these need to be broken up more into some different categories or new styles.

    Just my 2 cents.
