maybe its a counter pressure system to suck all the carb out of a beer? Oh wait thats what their current system does.

    Sorry I had to.

Oh come on, you know that's not true. The current system just doesn't have much carb to work with in the first place.....

I would have been even more impressed if the new beer stations were of a sufficient height to allow for the fill of generic growlers.

I've actually noticed significantly higher levels of carb in the last few rounds of growlers I've gotten. I've thought all along that their system likely wasn't designed to be filling growlers all the time, hence the crappy fills you used to get when they're busy. And the policy of only filling their own glass, probably done to reduce the number of fills they'd be doing. It seems more dialed in these days.

Doubtful, there are a number of reasons they do that and most of them haven't gone away.

They keep their glass prices reasonable. I dont see them changing the policy.

I'd kill for a Tired Hands branded 64oz flip top growler.

Is there a public parking lot across the street? Thinking about going to the Fermentaria for a few then walking to the cafe

There's metered parking all over the place, and I believe that lot that the Fermentaria is on is metered. If not, the lot that's where Cricket Ave meets Athens Ave is metered (red meters up to 12 hours, regular ones up to 2). It's a very short walk from there.

If you're going tonight, you can park pretty much anywhere in Ardmore for free after 6 PM.

Interested to hear what the food prices are. We're basically talking tacos right? I'll pass on peas and carrots and kale and eggs from the small plates and always leery of places that are not fish focused when it comes to turnover of stuff like oysters and fish. Interested to hear about the pricing here in general.

The good news, the menu is online: http://www.tiredhands.com/fermentaria/menu/

The bad news, no prices listed.

    Cheers!

People have been posting photos of the menu on Instagram. Pretty solid for the portion sizes. Small plates are around $10-13, taco plates $9-12, large plates (which are huge and for sharing) are in the $26-35 range. Forget about desserts, I saw the photo an hour or so ago.

At the very least for the first few weeks I have absolutely no doubt that the fish will be fresh because they're going to be packed nonstop.

After that, I still have little concern because a) they've shown a pretty strong commitment to quality food products and b) they aren't a seafood restaurant, but the menu here seems to be fairly fish-heavy, so they're still likely to have a good rate of turnover even after business falls to a steady pace from the initial rush.
