Barleywines have never been a style that I sought out, but a few weeks ago I had Sucaba for the first time(2012 bottle), and a 2012 mother of all storms as well. After Having them I am fairly interested in seeking some more out. Anyone have suggestions with some of their favorite BA barleywines? Let me know what I should look for!

Most people who are just trying barleywines for the first time will typically like the English version of that style before liking the American versions. You have already picked two that are in the English style. I'd check the list in this link and see which ones are available to you. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/style/152/

I'm partial to Arcadia's Cereal Killer, which is highly regarded. I don't think it comes out until later in the year (and probably like most of the others).

The obvious one is Bourbon County, although I think last years was infected for the most part. I also like Clown Shoes Billionaire which is aged in cognac barrels. There are others I'm sure that are very good, I just haven't been able to acquire them.

S/N Bigfoot is accessible and seems to be a big favorite, I'm not a huge fan of the style, but we sell a ton of that

One of my first favorite craft styles. I second Flying Mouflan and of course one can never go wrong with Old Ruffian. Seek out local takes on the style and explore. I think it's due for a resurgence.

Brooklyn Monster Ale has been my favourite so far, followed by Sierra Nevada Bigfoot and Nøgne Ø Sunturnbrew (although that one has a bit of smoke with it as well).

Fortunately if you live in the States you'll have access to plenty of decent Barleywines, so live large beerother!

Sucaba is excellent. But some other good ones that shouldn't be too hard to get would be
    Bell's Third Coast Old Ale,
    AleSmith Old Numbskull,
    Vintage Stone Old Guardian,
any JW Lee's harvest ales. (maybe a little hard to get.)

Good lord man you went right to the top! And aged at that. If the American version is too sharp/happy, just lay that bad boy (bigfoot) down for a couple years as well.

I recommend Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine. I am not a fan of the style, but this one is highly rated and I love all of their other bourbon barrel beers.

You already had the best (to me) with Mother Of All Storms (EBWSA), not really gonna find anything else like that, most likely. Lot's of good options people listed for ya, especially what BPackert mentioned, JW Lee's Harvest Ales, AleSmith Old Numbskull.

    Cheers!

Theres some great examples here but keep in mind......try everything and whatever is available. Some examples here are not offered year round or may not be in your distribution area. Since you are NY if there is any Southern Tier Back Burner around give it a go. At least in my neck of the woods its still around just sitting and getting better with time in my eyes. It didnt sell well here. But not because its gross, but because most people in my area are into IPA. Good luck.

The best I've had was Blendiculous 1, just a fantastic one off. The others I've had which is only a few were a bit thin and not near as big.
