are there any articles or step by step guides to get a novice going in setting up a kit from a-z? Im looking to do a simple keg setup for personal use so 1 line and keg would do the trick. Thanks for any pointers im not going to lie..I walk into my fav. bar sit down and enjoy great beer. I never took a moment to think how it gets from point A to point B
some good stuff on micromatic site. http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-beer-edu/beer-questions-cid-2297.html building the system is the easy part. Understanding how to balance it to get consistent good pours is not difficult, but is most often overlooked.
it's not magic. once you have a basic understanding perfect draft beer is actually quite simple. i will warn however, that buying a kegerator from anyplace that may happen to be selling PVC pipe or perhaps dry wall screws mere feet from the seemingly good deal on draft beer equipment is the absolute last place place you want to shop. the BA community can diagnose any problems you may encounter and get you on your way, but many of us do not own stock in Home Depot. buy your equipment from a specialty supply house, or ideally build your own. in these instances we can guarantee success. otherwise be be prepared to ask the dude in plumbing for advice. and truthfully, he does not know anything about draft beer systems. nothing. zip. Cheers. ps, Cubby is right. spend some time at Micromatic.
