I was thinking of buying a kegerator to keep my homebrew in so I don't have to bottle anymore. I know homebrew and commercial kegs use different couplings or attachments to connect to a kegerator so my question is- If I had a big enough kegerator with a dual faucet and had all the right couplings could I have a homebrew keg and commercial keg operating in the kegerator at the same time? thanks

To add just a teensy tiny bit more - you can run both off the same Co2 with a manifold.

Fascinating question. I never thought about the possibility of keeping a commercial keg plumbed alongside my homebrew system. I don't see why not, but am interested in others responses. Never did anything or even thought about with a commercial keg. I wonder if I can get (and afford) Bells or New Glarus... and run it off my CO2 line?

Yes. My local homebrew shop helped me set mine 2 keg system up with quick disconnects. I can run two commercial, 1 of each or two homebrew kegs.

At one point, I thought about getting a Sanke connection. But, I decided that I would not buy commercial kegs often enough to make the investment worth while. Spend the money on extra cornies instead, then you can have a variety of homebrew on tap.

nice, thanks for the replies. I thought it would be nice to have both, and I only homebrew one batch at a time at the moment so that way I could have to different beers on tap. thanks again.

i have a t-pic to divide the CO2 line out.
i have a sanke connector and a pin connector.
doubt i'll ever be at the level of drinking where i'd want 2 taps and 1 of them dedicated to a commercial keg, but yeah, it is possible.
