New to Ohio (2015)

Uh oh. If I go straight north there are 3 breweries (Millersburg, JAFB, Brew Kettle) before I get there. I have been to those though, so I may actually make it.

 

Looks like I missed my opportunity to meet you. I got there a few minutes before five. I was hanging out with @RyanMcFly1985 for a little bit until some of my other friends showed up.

 

Mike is a good dude. Everyone perceives him as a Fat Head's homer like curmudgeon. That may even be right. But damnit, the man knows what he likes and is loyal to it. As a fellow Fat Head's homer, I would say that GABF medals would support the fandom. You'll be meeting a great BA when you manage to meet up.

 

@miketd - Got there a little later than expected (5:20ish?) and think you were gone by then, otherwise I would have said hello. If you were still there, I just didn't look hard enough!

Tried Hop Stalker yesterday and that was some good stuff. IMO better than Hop Fro which I tried again but still wasn't overly impressed. Hop Stalker I was maybe expecting a tad more of "something", I can't quite put my finger on what it was missing for me. Aroma or more intense flavor profile, not sure. Perhaps it was just the day though, I still really enjoyed it.

Really digging the current batch of the Bean Me Up, it is amazing!... Last time they had it I wasn't as nearly impressed with it, but I could have easily had a few of those yesterday and "bean" happy. Of course, Jungle Juiced I still can't get over, I could drink that stuff at 6am in the morning before work and not think anything of it. Tastes more orangey than most orange juices lol

Just wanted to say thanks for the reccs and this thread in general! Had a glass of Creeper at Savor Pint earlier, drinking a fresh growler of Bodhi from Pace High in my hotel room and bringing home a 6er of 4 day old CBC IPA and a growler of Hoof Hearted Gose. Columbus slays.

 

May be late to the party, but Founders Harvest Ale has hit shelves here in Toledo. Such a delicious beer.

 

Only a week old too. I think last year it was almost a month by the time we got it.

 

Drinking one now... Was so pissed about last year. I'm no wet hop expert, but I hear they die immensely after about 10 days/ 2 weeks. Not sure if that's true. I passed on it though last year.

 

Been lurking here for a while. Just wanted to say thanks for all the tips! Thanks to you guys, I have tried some great Ohio and other midwest stuff. I've been hitting up HH for Sunday cannings since the first batch of Blabe.

Unsessionable hit Columbus. Kenny Road Market had sixers today. There should be some left. It's also on the list at Pies and Pints Worthington. Can't wait for mine to chill.

One of the best beers I had last year. Revolution seems to be a lot better than the attention they get.

 

They really are underrated given availability (here, anyway) and quality. A Little Crazy, Anti Hero, and Oktoberfest are really nice cans. Deth's Tar is one of my favorite BBA beers - just fantastic. The "Hero" series also pretty good, with Mosaic and Galaxy being my favorite.

Not to mention 1ZENUFF and Unsessionable which are great beers for what they are.

 

Pumking 4 packs are $18.99? Might grab one when they are still on the shelves next June

 

Yeah, don't see the point in a 4 pack over a bomber if the price point is the same...
