New to Ohio (2015)

I think I paid $10 for 8-12oz at Havana House in Niles. Ridiculous. It wasn't worth it at all. Especially when that place is a cancer infested shit hole. I bought it on an impulse because I was working up there and wanted to check out the bottle selection really quick. I didn't think I would stumble on to it a month ago.

 

As an avid over of FBS you make a compelling case, perhaps I should head down to the brewery this weekend.

 

Really digging Bison by Homestead. Great "light" RIS at 8.5% with a weird creamy feel and zero hop bitterness which is a big plus for me in stouts. Just came back from the brewery and had to bring a growler with me. Bottles are out too and it's a really good pick up at $10 IMO.

 

Are there any Black Friday event in Ohio

In a parallel universe they are releasing BA BORIS with vanilla beans. In the real world, they are releasing left over cases of an IPA with vanilla beans.

 

Seriously? Thats really disappointing given the stellar releases the last two years..

 

@Rydro17 Looks like I am working Saturday night, what do you think the odds are of being able to pick up some bottles come monday evening?

 

In regards to Nutsmasher, I swear I read an article earlier this year that mentioned two bottling runs for 2015. One was June (which happened obviously) and the other was November. Haven't heard/read anything since.

Thanks @Sinzanasti and @riemster. I agree, $10 is probably too much, even for the Vietnamese Speedway. I know it's at Smokehouse Brewery right now on one of their guests taps, but also $10 there. I'm not super desparate. Just thought it was worth a try, as I'm not likely to run into a bottle of it anytime soon.
Somebody mentioned that a keg of it was in the cooler at Pies and Pints Worthington. I'll keep an eye on it there.

 

I had Vietnamese Speedway three weeks ago or so at Small City Taphouse in Sandusky... It was really good, but the hype machine is a bit crazy for it (I think). I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but would gladly get a glass or bottle if reasonably priced and such. It was $7 for a pour.

 

No idea actually. Not in Ohio anymore, so having my brother pick some up for me. There's 500 cases with 8 bottle limit per person. Also assume 24 bottles/case based of 1200 gallons. IMO I doubt they sell out in one night.

Also grabbed a bottle of Duet in Toledo, best by March '16 $7.99. At that price I might just keep getting growler fills at $8.99 for 32 oz

 

We're planning to attend the Maumee Bay party tomorrow as well. Looking forward to checking out their small batches as well. And dinner at San Marcos too!

 

Hoof Hearted is releasing Dragonsaddle cans this Sunday as well as bottles of Saizzurp. 1 case limit on Dragonsaddle and 2 bottle limit on Saizzurp.

 

Infusion A Coffee Peanut Butter Porter AKA "that time Fred was tired and copied his recipe from Willoughby".

Also another beer, probably some "special" version of BORIS with malt that cost more per pound than caviar.
