New to Ohio (2016)

Just filled barrels at the brewpub yesterday

 

OMG. Dynamo and Monk in the same year? I'm not worthy!

 

I must be overlooking them, because I go to quite a few different beer stores that get a lot of great stuff and have never seen it.

You can find Apex predator troublesome and others pretty easily but dinosmores comes and goes quickly I may have one or two if you want try it

 

I think I could have guessed that somehow.......

 

I see Apex Predator, Scurry and Troublesome at Root Cellar and Cappy's all the time. I've seen them at Country Fresh in the past. I'd imagine they are at Jungle Jim's as well.

 

Any idea when we will see Sunday Morning Stout in Ohio? I think I prefer it to KBS - and much more reasonable to attain.

 

Next week and we shall see how easy it is to get this year

 

I had a sample at the brewery a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of the regular Pirogue, but the barrel did it a lot of good. The price stings a tad, but I'll buy one 2 pack.

 

Sunday Morning Stout is in stock at Kroger in St. Clairsville which has a surprisingly good craft selection!

 

I mean, like I said, I would try it if given the opportunity, but otherwise, it's not for me. For all I know, it could be the best tripel in North America next to La Fin Du Monde, but I'm not holding my breath.

 

At first glance, pricing seems on the higher end, but then I realize that it's for 32 oz. in a format that allows me to crack one now and one to sit on/trade/share with a buddy. If they put it in bombers at the same $ per oz., it'd be around $12.50/bomber, but then I'd have the dilemma of buying 2 bombers for $25. Personally, I'm kinda digging the Warped Wing packaging.

 

It appears that the flavored Ballast Point Beers(i.e. Pineapple Sculpin) appear to be hitting Cincy distro this week.

 

I saw We'll Do It Live at Wine and Brew this morning.

 

Made it up here to Toledo as well.

 

Picked them up on Monday and was not impressed...

 

Girlfriend surprised me with a growler fill of Hop JuJu yesterday from the North Olmstead location... By far the best version of JuJu brewed since the last production release... I can't get over how awesome it was... As I told my buddy, after drinking so much Hoof, Treehouse and other similar styled IPA's the past few months, I am SO happy JuJu is here... The juicey IPA's were starting to get tiring for me... Needed that resinous, bitter west coast style back in my life. JuJu still is easily my favorite DIPA of all time, can't wait to pick up that case!

 

Anyone have experience with the JuJu release party? Thinking about driving after work today from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to grab a case, so I do not have to wait until next week. However, work typically drains the life out of me, so I am not sure if I will be up for waiting hours in line this evening. Is it relatively low-key or insane? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 

See that price per ounce isn't terrible. BUT if you only pick up one, well, that's one to drink, one to share/age/whatever, which is fine, but if you want more than one to drink to yourself or share, well, that's an almost 40 dollar 4 pack. That hurts the wallets for some of us.
