Isn't it normally closer to 11%? That would suck pretty hard if we get skipped this year due to the increase if that is in fact the actual ABV. I take it Lanthrone wasn't in crazy demand like their other BA offerings. Just saw a bunch of them at Rocky River Whole Foods.

To think I had so much extra from last year to the point where I just wanted to give it away so it became an extra in all my trades. Now I wish I would have saved some for next year lol.

 

Fucking just saw that too and posted in the KBS thread. This 12% ABV Ohio cap is screwing us once again...

 

A $5 a bottle extra... wow.

I wish I could say the same, but since I've recently been hosed in the only mail trade I've done, I'll only be trading in person from now on.

This trade wasn't via BeerAdvocate though, so I guess that's partially my fault.

 

Anyone know if SMS is at Downtown CLE Heinens? Gonna be down there tonight and could stop in and see if they have SMS, but figured I'd at least throw out a line first. (yes, I'm being lazy)

Cause I'm extra lazy. That'd require looking up the phone number.

 

If you call you either get Pat Conway's grandson or that 75 year old dude who knows nothing about beer so he'll disappear into the back for 10 minutes searching every box for the beer you asked for. It's worse than reading that sentence I just typed.

 

Seems that's the case for most retail grocers. You call and ask if a certain seasonal or new one off has dropped yet and they just repeat the name of the beer back to you but they totally butcher the name and you immediately know that your best course of action is probably to just hang up. If they repeat it back in the form of a question you know you've just lost 10 minutes of your day. However your inner politeness forces you to just push through the convo and after several minutes of being on hold while the store clerk is sifting through the coolers they come back and tell you all the things that they saw which aren't even remotely close to what you inquired about.

 

I've had that exact experience multiple times. Best one was when I called and asked about backwoods bastard

 

Not gonna lie...you nailed that experience! Happens every time. I just never realize it until I'm in too deep. Damn politeness!

 

For once, it's nice to live in the 'Nati. A quick little jaunt to Kentucky and/or Indiana will be in order.
