Am I totally blind or are these Trail Head bottles not in Cleveland area stores?

I asked a while ago why the change and I was told that they had too much product loss with canning issues. So they decided to stick with bottles for now. True or not, that is what I heard.

On a side note, stopped by for some JuJu tonight and trailhead bottles to go... As far as juju, it is excellent but the aroma is lacking some. If they can amp that up for the production batch it should be amazing. Not quite what last years batch was, at least for now.

I noticed that the recent 12 oz bottles of Alpine say "Alpine" on the actual bottle (above the label). When they first entered in 16.9 oz bottles, I could have sworn they said "Green Flash." The labels look the exact same other than that. Does this mean the new batch is actually legit brewed by Alpine or am I just confused? The bottles say "brewed and bottled by Alpine brewing company" if I'm not mistaken. Not sure what the 16.9 oz bottles said on them.

Alpine made a deal with Green Flash to increase their distribution footprint. If it has an Alpine label then it was brewed by Alpine not Green Flash.

Took a second look amd both the large and small format bottles have the same label and both say brewed and bottles by alpine brewing company. Tall bottles have Green Flash on the neck whereas the smaller ones actually say Alpine. Not that it matters really but I was curious. Only other notable difference is the small alpine marked bottles have no enjoy by date where the taller ones marked green flash do have one.

Sorry, but I believe this is incorrect. I'm pretty sure I heard that every Alpine beer that is distributed to Ohio is brewed and packaged by Green Flash. They probably just got new bottles and labels.

That was the impression I was under as well (that green flash was behind the scenes). Seems a little weird and misleading to put "brewed and bottled by Alpine beer company" on the labels though if that's the case.

This had me scratching my head as well some months ago when this came out. Sometimes its little things like this (you pointing this out) that make me feel I'm not going crazy after all!

I think a more appropriate labeling would be "Product of Alpine Brewing Company, brewed and bottled by Green Flash Brewing." Probably making a bigger deal out of it than it really is but personally I find it very deceiveing.

I just looked up the Cleveland Winter Beerfest and I was rather disappointed. I'm a huge fan of the beer scene in Ohio and I was under the impression that the festival would be a showcase of local Ohio breweries. While there are some good local breweries, the majority of them are from all over the country. Is there any local beer festival that you would recommend in Ohio that is worth the drive from Detroit ?

There's one in Toledo (I think it's called Toledo untapped) at the end of April. Haven't checked out the line up yet but should be good if past years are an indication. Also the Toledo walleye are hosting a beer fest that I also heard has been good in years past, if you look up something like walleye winter fest you should find all the info, that one is at the end of this month I believe.

Cleveland Winter Warmer seems like the fest you are looking for.

Yep! The "Cleveland Winter Beerfest" isn't even thrown by anyone from Cleveland. They're a cookie-cutter newbie-fest-throwing organization that does the exact same event in Pittsburgh, Columbus and Cincy. It's OK Friday night but Saturday is a nightmare, and the VIP is a joke.

Ohio Craft Brewers Association Winter Warmer is the best showcase of Ohio beer in the state. Highly recommended!!

I'm half tempted to go to this just for the Thirsty Dog sherry barrel aged wee heavy mentioned on the Ohio CBA website.

Cleveland Winter Warmer is by far my favorite local beer fest. It keeps growing and growing, too. Can't wait to go this year.

I pray for Super Juicy Hop JuJu again. Wound up with a bunch of extra growlers to use after that trip.
