New to Ohio (2016)

I think Citra Mandala is almost up there too. We live in some tough times.

 

While we're talking DIPAs and such...anyone tried Troegs Nimble Giant yet? Been hearing good things.

 

Funny this one comes up I'm drinking one now should be interesting to see what age does to it

 

Gun to my head...Juju, Bodhi, Konkey Dong. But I don't ever wanna live in a world where I have to choose. But there's just nothing beating Juju for me.

 

I think it is fantastic, especially if you like citrusy floral IPAs. I have had 4 so far to 1 Mandala, and I bought them at the same time. And I really liked the Mandala.

 

It's great stuff.. definitely worth checking out..

New to Cincy, hey all. Looking for good bottle shops, etc,...any chance of finding Cantillon in the "wild" around here? I'm familiar with some local breweries, but haven't visited any yet. Do breweries sell cans & bottles or are they only distro'd out to stores? Thanks.

 

I've heard about some shipments of cantillon but haven't seen any in a year or two. Definitely something you have to hop on super fast or make a really good relationship. Breweries are allowed to sell direct to consumers on premise in Ohio so your good to go on that front. I'll let the Cincinnati people hop in for the stores, but I know jungle jims and party source across the river are popular. Welcome to Ohio.

 

Where did you guys see info on the Bodhi release? Didn't see anything on their Facebook

They tapped a keg of a Cantillon beer last Friday at Liberty's Bar and Bottle. Haven't seen it around at all since I started getting into beer. Apparently it used to be plentiful.

In terms of the breweries the following breweries don't can or bottle or only do so on a very limited schedule:

Fifty West
Blank Slate Brewing Company
Fibonacci
Dogberry Brewing
Urban Artifact
Mash Cult
Bad Tom Smith Brewing - thankfully, their beer is not good.
Tap and Screw - also not so good.

The rest of the breweries in town have broad or limited distribution.

A great place to try a bunch of local beers at once is the Brass Tap in Clifton. They do $3 locals from 3-7 weekdays. They usually have a pretty decent list.

Fluffers gonna fluff. The line for Nimble was shorter than the MBC Dinner release. So that's a win I guess.

 

Guy at my shop suggested it......he was right. Great stuff.

 

Was at RWB mentor browsing around and the guy stocking the shelves just handed it to me, "do you like ipas? try this", great beer, reminded me of juju a bit.

 

Haha wonder who that was.
