I kid you not, the previously mentioned GE has about 10 cases of Bodhi now and I counted three different bottling dates. Circle A is lucky to get one case a month.

Pretty sure it's Superior here. I agree it's effed up, because it sure doesn't sell as fast at GE as it does places like Circle A.

Or at Royal Park. We got 2 cases and sold through in the blink of an eye. Not sure why Giant Eagles are getting the majority. Makes no sense. We have people calling/asking every day when we're going to get more all the time.

Superior is likely the problem in the equation. Not sure why Columbus would have picked them. But looking at their portfolio I'm sure Columbus gets lost in the mix. They would have been better off going with a smaller outfit that could have spent more time getting them into the right places. It's just easier for them to dump Bodhi in grocery stores than actually work.

It's kind of like how I'm surprised some of these craft breweries pick the Miller or Bud distributors over Premium and Cavalier.

I would personally pick Superior 1000x's over Premium. But, yeah, Cavalier FTW.

Guys, there's pros and cons with all distribution decisions. I refuse to get into an argument here, but just realize that there's always much more to the story and how decisions get made. Personally, I do not like commenting on something that I don't know much about.

We'll continue to work with everyone involved to get the right beer to the right places.

Premium is the worst. I always thought that they just treated Cincinnati like a red-headed-step-child, but, after hearing from some in central Ohio, I suspect that they are just not that good at their vocation. It's a shame that some really great breweries go through them; if you want the beer, you gotta get it from Premium, I guess. :astonished:

My comments aren't geared toward creating an argument. I hear that laws may be changing and breweries may not be locked in with just one distributor forever. My comments are hopeful that breweries that aren't happy with their distributor may be able to switch to another one at some point.

I feel for breweries and bottle shops alike when it comes to this kind of stuff. With that said, it's hard for me to not enjoy the convenience of being able to consistently pick up some of the best craft beers... right across the street at GE, whenever I want.

If it makes anyone feel better, its the same in a big market like Chicago, where BCBS and others are most easily found, months later, in grocery stores.

Ooooh, also looks like FH put Hippy Sippy & Tweaked Out in Buffalo Trace Barrels yesterday. Hope these turn out as well as the Four Roses Hippy from last year. That beer was insane.

Curious, does anyone know what tracking systems the distributors use? How do they track what's in the warehouse and where they are sending skus?

They track everything. They can pull sales data from any account going back YEARS. So when an account complains about how much of a brewery's specialty beer they receive, they can go back and look to see how much of the same brewery's core beer that store sells in a given time period.

Did this actually happen due to the power outage? Where did you see this posted?

It was posted on Facebook. Definitely did not happen due to the power outage. Taphouse is closed again tonight because of outage. Back to business tomorrow at 4pm, no word yet if Super Juicy will go live then.

From what I understand, all of the Founders Barrel Aged Series beers are now going to be released in both 12 ounce 4 packs as well as 750mL bottles; even KBS and Backwoods Bastard.

Whole Foods on Chagrin was the one place I saw that got the Frootwood Bombers, so I'd imagine they'd get the KBS bombers too if available.
