By the way, enjoying one now... Wow, it's extremely well done. This may be my favorite out of the past three years that I can recall. Very clean, the hop bitterness just balances the malt presence perfectly. Some toasted, caramel malt notes... But it's delicate. Can EASILY crush a few of this (load up those steins!).

What a fantastic Festbier! I will for sure be picking up a few more 12-packs.. No question.

Pumpkin beers up next for sure. Last couple years they hit in July. Stupid if you ask me. But yeah I wouldn't exactly say Octoberfest beers are truly seasonal like the Pumpkin and Christmas Ales

For me this beer equals cold weather, I'll pass overall, not my style, I'm more bothered by fat heads bottling their version of Oktoberfest and not something else, like a seasonal barreled stout, but never mind that masthead already has one in stores

Fantastic representation of the style, not surprising at all coming from Sierra Nevada. I just wish they still brewed Tumbler. That was an awesome fall seasonal. I want to say maybe they did it in a variety pack sometime in the last few years, but I miss being able to buy sixers.

    I was just thinking this.

Unless I really like a beer (in which case I am sometimes fine buying up to a case), I don't like buying a 12 pack. They sit around for a bit longer than I like. Not inherently because they are no longer fresh, but more because I do the "or I could have...that" thing. And "that" never wins. I'm more apt to drink it if I am out and have to go get some more than if I "still" have some sitting around.

Why? Fat Heads makes amazing German beers and lagers, almost as good as their hoppy stuff. And its not like a BA stout is just simple to make in quantity.

I was just trying to make the point at being hard as you said, masthead is maybe a year old and puts out a barrel stout to distro, good for them, I just always feel like I am waiting for more offerings from fat heads to get bottled given their experience and range

Difference is when Fat Heads puts out a BA beer it barely lasts on tap. They don't have a need to bottle it. Or many of their beers for that matter.

Once Fat Heads new production facility is up and running I'm sure that will change.

For those of you in Columbus, Market District in Grandview has Mokasida Speedway on draft

Columbus has been nailing Bodhi and the standard ipa lately. I'm drinking a 7/7 ipa right now(actually my third) and it is better than ever.

Also, when did fruited beer jump the shark? I was perusing the swill rack for a chili beer and saw Blackberry Steel Reserve. I received a hangover just looking at that shite.

I've been seeing Avery Nuttiest Professor hitting around. I picked up a bottle, haven't tried it yet, but I've heard good things.

It was ok, but if I could do it over agian, I would have just used the money on a sixer of good IPA.

Any one know if/when oak-aged vanilla world wide stout will hit Ohio.

It hit Indiana yesterday, so I'd be at least a little surprised if it didn't hit Ohio Yesterday, or at very least hit Ohio sometime in the next 7 days.
