Anyone else let down by the fat heads calendar?



Don't get me wrong, I love their stuff, head hunter is a steady rotation in my fridge, but I am always hoping for something special from them. Cheers to consistency, but where's the experimental / fun (non-draft only) that most other breweries do? And I don't mean a NEIPA canning release brah.

 

I see what you mean . . . I don't see any Bonehead either ? I'd also like to see some Alpine Glow bottles one of these days !

 

Totally get what you’re saying but this is a HUGE transitional year for them to get into the new production brewery so I think they get a pass.

I would be shocked if we don’t start to see stuff like IBUsive, Hop Marauder, Danklin, etc. once the new place is up and running.

The new brewery willl literally be the only BrauKon like it in the world, practically engineered to Matt’s specs to once again kick the hops into places never ventured. And I heard they’re getting a killer canning line!!

 

Yea, Fat Head’s is moving nto a mammoth space; give them a wee bit of time.

 

I was hoping to see packaged IBUsive and Marauder (and Black Knight, Kohlminator, Battle Axe for that matter) this year as well. Hopefully they just didn’t want to commit to a release date with the transition and 2018 will still bring all those glorious drafts to our shelves. And that canning line!! After the ABV cap disappeared I have been dreaming of a day where Head Hunter and White Rajah cans frolic with me through fields of flowers.

 

Genuinely curious, what does the ABV cap have to do with cans of HH and White Rajah?

 

Sorry. Those were 2 separate items. I meant that my daydreams have now shifted to cans (or at least bottles with dates) followed closely by a CBC taproom.

 

Getting a chance to revisit Mother Stewart's brewing company's Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter Aged in Stillwrights Bourbon barrels, reminds me of a smoother whiskey rebellion and glimmers of Jackie O's in terms of its barrel presence, a solid chocolate roast porter with barrel on the finish once they start bottling this beer it will definitely make it's self known once they expand their distribution.

 

New to OH: Cleveland's own Masthead Brewery is putting out some killer hops (Citra Vice) and BA brews. Their BA Winter stout has a wonderful combo of cinnamon, spices and barrel and dare I say is "Abraxas" like. Their milk stout, BA Tiramisu, is spot on and the draft only addition of raspberries brings it to another level.

 

Any available at retail shops or is it all brewery/growlers?

There are Masthead cans and a few draft offerings away from their brewery location. It's limited distro but there are a few out in the wild.

 

Picked up a tall boy of BA Tiramisu at Warehouse Beverage and they had a few left.

 

Anyone know when Prairie Pirate Noir and Pirate Bomb are hitting OH?

Oh man, I've missed that beer way too much. Pumped for this one.
