New to Ohio (2018)

How was it? Hoping to get down there today for my bottles? What base beer is it?

 

I only got to try a sample from someone else that opened theirs. From that taste, I'm really not quite sure how to explain it and since they call it an "ale" without labeling it a specific style of ale. I think it can best be described as a Brown. It was lighter than I was expecting, some coconut and caramel notes, not a huge punch to the face like their other stuff, a little toasty. Will have to dig into a bomber soon.

 

Anyone in the state seeing deths tar yet?

 

Haven't seen it on shelves yet. Maybe an issue with distributor or state - UPCs / labels. Saw some unsessionable and brut hero within the past two weeks so some rev stuff is still flowing. Looking forward to it myself since it's probably my last BA stout purchase for the winter and will put a cap on a very productive fall BA stout season.

 

According to Cavalier's Twitter, we aren't getting Deth's Tar this year:

Fortunately my local joint had VSOJ on draft, so I got a little fix. But this is still sad.

 

That’s pretty awful. Considering they sent Deths Tar last year, made more of it this year and sent BA stuff before when it wasn’t as popular (back to bomber days)

Guess I’ll just be buying less Revolution stuff in general since they don’t care about Ohio

 

Was this a third tapping in Ohio, or was it Town Hall or Wine Spot? Heard we might get another swing at it so want to make sure I don't miss out on one last pour.

 

It was at Wine Spot for a couple weeks. They put on Thai Speedway after it, which I liked much much more

 

Just picked up some Creeper today. Bottled on 12/10.

 

Market Garden just bottled their "El Jugoso Double IPA".. it's great stuff at a great value for a quality DIPA.. it's definitely a winner IMO and worth checking out if you come across it..

 

My second visit to Noble Creature was more impressive than my first. Can really see them doing great things. They just put out a bottle (with pretty cool artwork) of wild ale aged in wine barrels for a year, and have a lot of plans. Really looking forward to seeing where they take things.

 

I was there Saturday, and as usual, was very happy with the offerings.

 

Anyone seeing Old Nation cans around? Supposed to be available already, but nothing in the Youngstown area yet.

 

I heard next month for cans. This month for draft.

 

Teaches at the elementary school in Coshocton, before that Central Elementary in Crowtown.

Drinking the anniversary saison right now. Really nice.

 

We are in the hick district of the county (legitimately. We have an AG dept and our own hog barn) Havent made it out there for the saison or anniversary lager yet thanks to work, but my brother enjoyed the saison.

 

Jungle Jims has had cans of M-43, not sure about Boss Tweed. $20 a 4 pack. No thank you.

 

Doesn’t do anything for me, but for those that have been looking for M43 I saw Aficionados in Cbus has growler fills for $16.99
