Hearing rumors of Crooked Stave coming to Ohio! Nothing confirmed yet but that would be awesome!! Also a BIG brewery coming to OH sooner than anticipated.

Saw they had this their newsletter. Blacklick is out of the way for me, hope i stumble across it elsewhere. How is it?

Yeah, I'd assume it'll be popping up elsewhere this week. I like it a bit better than the regular (fuller, smoother maybe) and enjoyed the whole bottle:slight_smile: I'm still trying to beat my tastebuds onto the sour train though, so I may not be the best source of advice here. But very enjoyable and glad to have tried it. Wallet is a bit lighter though ($23.99).

As much as I would like that Crooked Stave rumor to be true it does seem a little unlikely to think that their first distribution outside of Colorado would be 1,500 miles to Ohio (Even if it's part of a multi-state expansion). I would think they would expand to Cali/Oregon first.

Also, Deschutes coming sooner? I can't wait!

I'm still waiting for Prairie & Allagash. They distribute so close!

That's good to hear. I figured it would be more than the regular gueuze. Thanks for the input. if anyone sees this anywhere besides Blacklick, let me know, please!

I'm sure Savor will post a !!RARE & LIMITED BEER ONLY SIX BOTTLES!! raffle soon. Or they might hold it back and 'cellar' it for you...

It's probably on the shelf at Barrel & Bottle right now. There was one left at Blacklick on Monday.

Crooked Stave is in NY, so it wouldn't be their first state. But I hear ya, I'll believe it when I see it but the source I heard it from is completely dependable so there is something there!

The other brewery I was referring to is not Deschutes :grinning:

Allagash was in OH until 2009-ish. Don't see them coming back anytime soon.

Prairie is distro'ed by Shelton so that will probably happen sooner than later since we already get Shelton stuff.

    Cheers!

Crooked Stave just started hitting KY. I saw it at Party Source last night. Here's to hoping it comes across the border into the Buckeye State!!! Everything they do is fantastic.

New Belgium the BIG brewery? If so, what are you hearing?

I don't have anything concrete to add, just what I'm hearing, but I'm positive it's New Belgium.

Sooo happy about Deschutes..I wonder if we'll get any of the rare releases out here? I believe Abyss is 11% so we should still be under the asinine 12% cap.

I could care less about Abyss honestly. I'm just excited for Black Butte, Obsidian Stout, and fresh hopped Mirror Pond. I'm sure we'll get some of the special stuff but it'll be such a pain to get a bottle it won't even be on my radar.

I've actually never tried any Deschutes stuff but I'm pretty excited to try Black Butte and Obsidian Stout!

I know the general trend is bigger, bolder, stronger anymore but the fresh hopped Mirror Pond Pale was one of the best fresh hop beers I ever had and one of my favorite beers from last year. Best thing was it was only $4/5 a bomber.

I'm certainly an advocate of Deschutes, and after recently moving back to Ohio from Portland, it will be great to see them in my home state. That being said, I think Founders Porter is a better robust porter, if not the most true to style porter out there, than Black Butte. That's the only thing I can say against their year round lineup. Deschutes has a stellar seasonal rotation, of which, Red Chair is probably my favorite. This is great news.
