This I must do! I go to the DeCicco's in Ardeley and in Pelham, but I have to get over to the Brewster location. You had me at beer bar and samples

As someone who was in your shoes about 5 years ago, here's a few things for you to keep in mind.

    1) Your reviews are your reviews. You can't score a beer too high or too low. They're your reviews. In the future you may re-visit beers you drank years earlier. Re-review if you'd like to have an up-to-date record of your views, or leave them if you want a historical take on your changing palate.

    2) You will eventually become interested in beers that you do not have regular access to, or things you hear about online. A small fraction of these beers will be better than what you can get locally, with most being worse. Learning this is part of the fun.

    3) This is only the beginning. Beer is awesome, and luckily it's still relatively affordable for now...

    Enjoy!
    Jeff

I've known of Lazy Boys great beer menu for a while, but am not a bif fan of getting rapped by mark-ups. kinda why i buy at stores and bring home. I almost went there to buy a $25 bottle of Midnight Sun Berserker Stout, but found a bomber at a shop for $15. KBS!? I will have to drag my ass over there and just take the mark up haha

I ry to go local as much as possible. support my guys and it's cheaper to fill a growler or grab a sixer at my local brewery(which is Captain Lawrence Brewing co.)

The KBS was there because they had a Founders event the week before. They do have BCBS for 15 which is steep but not utter rapage. Their sweet and spicy wings are killer.

Disagree. That is the course of few craft drinkers, but I know what you mean.

I use to work at a pub right across the street from them years ago, but our pub was not a beer centric pub(sad) and would always go to Lazy with my staff after work, good thing I got snuck in with my bar shirt(19 the time) but there beer list at lazy is amazing for the area, just can't stand the whole guido bar scene that it's turned into. I'll def go on the slow times of the week. they have a GREAT steak and some killer burgers man!

This is prob not the right thread to ask this question, but if anyone knows where to find ANY Three Floyds beers in the Westchester County are, please send a response in the inbox. I had my beer guy at DeCicco's Market order me two bottles of their Broo Doo and that was almost a month and a half ago and he has not had any luck so far and it looks like it may not happen but I will wait haha. thanks

Just making a generalization in an attempt to be funny. Obviously I failed :slight_frown:

The "I know what you mean" was a knowing recognition of your generalization. My analytical self couldn't live with "most" though, especially in guidance of a new Advocate. No need to send him off chasing Loons at this juncture.

quick question, just picked up a bottle of St. Bernardus Abt 12 and it says to serve at 52-56 degrees. How long out of the fridge should I let it sit before cracking it open? I'm not a snob in the slightest, but want to do the beer justice and get the most out of this Belgian I've heard such great things about.

Just take it out of the fridge for 15 minutes before serving, and just sip on it as it warms up for a good hour or so.

For Flanders Reds, Rodenbach Classic is a great place to start- it is a blend of young (6 weeks) and aged (2 years) beers.
If you like that then get some Rodenbach Grand Cru, which is the straight aged beer.

Similarly, you can get some Oud Bruin like Liefman's Goudenband.

Or, for a Berliner Weiss there is Fritz Breim's 1809.

All of these are affordable, not too difficult to find, and very good beers. I still get each of these pretty regularly, and they always deliver.
