Hey all. New to the thread, and new to Grand Rapids. Always been into beer, but it seems like you guys take it to a whole new level...which I excited to learn. Anyways, familiar with the more popular local brews (founders, new holland, hop cat, brewery vivant). Curious about some of the others, (harmony? hideout? Schmohz? others i'm missing). Also, what are some local bombers I should get? I picked up some Founders FMB, a few of the Hatterday series, and looking for some more local stuff to drink/trade. Thanks all!

Sorry not from that side of the state to be able to give any valuable input but welcome aboard just the same. You should find no shortage of anything you need over there. There is a nice tool on the main page of beeradvocate where you can read the reviews of places local there to help you out on your quest.

You can't go wrong visiting any brewery in West Michigan or buying any beer off the shelf from any West Michigan brewery. 'Nuf sed! Welcome to West Michigan. Come to Battle Creek and enjoy a beer at Arcadia.... my treat when you get here.

Now that's just absurd homerism. Yeah, there are many good breweries in the area. But there are also some that are downright awful (like Jaden James).

I'd forgotten about them. I've stopped into that brewery but they never had anything ready to try. So that one may be the only exception to my statement.

For a guy from MO you really get around if you've stopped at that brewery!

Noted. Will not stop at Jaden James... I do plan on stopping by Arcadia at some point.
