Hi All, Just moved to Vermont from California and looking for some advice. My wife and I love craft beer and have been taking advantage of all the Vermont food/beer that we can over our 4 weeks here. BA has been a great resource for me during my journey through craft beer over the past 10 years. Being new to Vermont (burlington area) we are trying to meet new friends, and friends that have a passion for beer is an added bonus. My wife and I are in our early 30's with a 2 yr old and would love to get to know some people in the area and enjoy the local beer. We have been to most of the family friendly beer locations in the area (farmhouse/prohibition pig/ Vt Pub and Brewery) but it'd be great to meet up with others similar to our family situation. If your a young family looking to hang out we'd love to meet up
Welcome!! You definitely moved to the right area to enjoy great beer although California ain't bad either. I know there are plenty in Chittenden county in your boat, it's just a matter of meeting them, best of luck. I'm down in Manchester which is about 2.5hrs south from you with a family so trips to Burlington are a rarity. If you're ever down this way, don't hesitate to contact though.
Welcome to the state! Live in the Burlington area, but no kids so I need not apply, so best of luck - doesn't get much better when it comes to beer than VT
welcome to Vt. When your 2 year old starts going to school you'll meet everyone around you with kids. When I first moved to Vermont I wished I had business cards so I could give them to people I bumped into that fit the bill of new friend. Up here people are too busy shoveling, trying to make ends meet, have their own problems and lives and you rarely meet it seems.
West Coast...welcome! I have a 6 year old and my wife and I are big craft beer enthusiasts. What part of Vermont are you in? PM me if you like.
Welcome to Vermont! I'm in my early 20's but wanted to suggest taking a short trip down to American Flatbread in Waitsfield once the weather gets nicer. It's super kid friendly (I know the location in Middlebury has couches around the fireplace for children to sleep on) and has Lawson's on tap! Pro Pig and Blackback are obviously great but you really can't beat Flatbread's atmosphere.
Hey! My wife and I are in our early 30s with an almost 3 year old and one in the oven. We live in Waterbury. Blue Stone is a great family friendly place too - right around the corner from Pro Pig. I'm also a homebrewer, and always looking for help on brew/bottle days.
