Hi, I'm decently new to more rare craft beer and brand new to trading. I saw someone who wanted New Glarus fruit beers for Founders KBS and asked about it. He said he wanted 2 reds, a raspberry, and a serendipity and asked what I wanted in return. I'm not quite sure how many KBS's would equal 4 ($10 each) of the new glarus...
If you're going $4$, it's probably a good idea to ask the guy how much he paid for it. In case you don't already know $4$ means you both put in the same cash amount of beers.
KBS goes for $20-25 per 4 pack IIRC. If I were to do the trade I'd be happy with 6 considering the NG Fruits are so easy to come by.
The OP is in Wisconsin according to his profile. The ease of getting a beer is always relative to the location of the person with access to that beer for trade at that time, not relative to the person asking to trade for that beer. At this exact time in both traders' locations, KBS is none existence so the person who has KBS has the edge on "difficulty". In Philly, KBS was $10/ea. If you're lucky, $8. All gone in a couple of days. If you're even more lucky, you would manage more than 1 at the same bottle shop or get to the next one before it's gone. That said, OP, depending on how much he paid for the KBS and how close he's willing to trade close to the average price (say $7), 6x KBS or 4x KBS + some locals (more likely the latter) to make up to $40 would be a reasonable trade. Good luck!
Agreed, but there are new traders out there every day so didn't want some other new trader reading this and getting the wrong idea.
I think the kicker here is going to the availability of KBS, Id open it up to the trader and ask him how many he is willing to trade and then go from there.
