Love their stuff. I've had Broken Paddle, Cabin Fever, Pocket Knife, a couple others. All top-notch. Would love to see more distro in my area (Bucks/Montco); it's been a little spotty.

Love their stuff too (as well as the pricing), which is why I wanted to start the thread.

I'm in Central PA and it seems like it's spotty from time to time down here too. I know the distributor I go to wanted to get Mai Tai One On, but didn't initially. They requested it again and finally got some.

The Mai Tai was not good. Interested in trying their Schwarzbier, though.

Good to know. Seems like mixed reviews on Untappd. Have you had anything else from them?

Yep, and other than the Mai Tai, I've liked everything to some degree, with most being really good. Their anniversary triple IPA was pretty amazing. I've had Last Minute Decisions, No Brakes, Back Cast and Broken Heels also as far as hoppy offerings go. Their Imperial Stout, Moonlit.... that was really nice. It was a relief to see them be able to make something outside of the New England situation....

Overall I've been really impressed. We've discussed their pricing before, which is totally a bonus.

the Mai Tai was decent but below average for them on an IPA

    the Schwarzbier was solid...draft only

they also had Heliocentric on draft when I went there

glad to see something new around my way that is pretty well done, and reasonably priced

don't live in Williamsport anymore but my sister still lives in that area so she has been picking me up the brewery only cans

FYI, the head brewer used to be the head brewer for Kane and the production brewery manager for Tired Hands

Did you see the new single and double IPA they are releasing this weekend? Wish they would can a different style, but their stuff is still great regardless.

Too bad on the Schwarzbier being draft only, but I'll keep an eye out for it. Probably going to be drawn back to get more Shades cans today or tomorrow.

They canned two porters, a stout, and a tripel last winter. Hopefully they do it again!

My only beef with New Trail is their hype/scarcity tactics. I guess working for Kane and Tired Hands has its lasting effect. Their post above about Bomb Pop makes it sound like it would be super limited. It is still to be found in almost every shop they distributed to around me. Which I guess, is a good thing, lol.

Agree with you on that. I thought Shades was supposed to be limited and saw that some distributors received more after the first round.

Has anyone tried the Heliocentric Sour that is being canned this week?

    ^had it on draft

It was decent but passing on it because I don't feel the need to drink it again and I have enough stuff in my fridge at the moment

picking up a 4 pack as part of a trade for some Dewey and hopefully Burley Oak and RAR when I go to the beach next month

Picked up a 4pk of Shades last week at Westy's in Camp Hill after having it on draft a few times and really enjoying it. Popped a can on Saturday and it was a shell of its former self. Any way to identify canning date so I can figure out if it's batch variance or just old beer? I emailed New Trail, but crickets so far. The experience reminded me why I so rarely drink "fragile" beer not from the source...

Haven't been to Westy's in years, but I'm curious.... are they in the habit of keeping hoppy products such as that beer cold, or is it still the same warehouse susceptible to the same weather whims as it used to be?

Had 3 out of my 4 cans of Shades and I'm not impressed. 1 was great, the other two were not very good. Not sure what the issue was there.
