Anyone try this beer yet? Saw it’s finally being distributed in cases and appears to be $21-25 a case. Looking to give it a shot for the price.

Is it an AAL? Surprised that New Trail would have the economy of scale to sell a beer for the same price as Budweiser or Yuengling

I’m not quite sure the exact style.

I did see this for $24 a case. I plan on picking one up next week. Lazy River Pils is pretty good too.

At that price -- was it contract-brewed?

Please report back whether there are any dates on the case box.

I personally have yet to see packaged dating on any New Trail products.

    Cheers!

Yeah, at that price that'd be the first thing one'd think (what with City/Latrobe and The Lion in-state) but -
Nope, and they make it pretty clear on the label, too (no other brewer listed on TTB COLA, either).

I’m pretty sure there was a date on it when I checked. Their 12 packs do have dates stamped on the carton. I know I’ve seen dates on Broken Heels, Lazy River, and the variety cases. Individual 4 packs unfortunately seem to be a different story. I’ll report back when I pick up a case of Crisp lager.

Ended up being $26 for the case. End of the carton stamped with a packaging date of 1/13/23.

I look forward to reading what you think of this beer.

Perhaps a good post for the New Beer Weekend thread?

    Cheers!

P.S. Spoiler alert: I will be discussing a new beer from Victory, Cold Front Cold IPA, in tomorrow's NBW thread.

I like this beer! Very easy drinking. I was concerned with the appearance at first as it looked like it was going to be too light. I was happy to find a nice grassy hop character and a very smooth finish. Nothing earth shattering here, but for the price a perfect beach, tailgate, lawnmower beer. My only real knock is the flimsy packaging. Handle with care, my case split on the walk up the driveway.

That reminded me of the guy at the beginning of the movie Poltergeist:

They say you should never cry over spilled milk but when it comes to beer...:astonished:

    Cheers!
