If you're interested, check Bell's beer finder on their website. Double Two Hearted was just released last week here in Michigan. I don't know its intended distro footprint, but it may be on its way to your area too. It's exactly what you'd think it should be taste wise, a double strength Two Hearted.

 

Because those three letters are 'magic' when it comes to beer sales now.

As others have discussed I doubt that they would change the beer of Two Hearted Ale/IPA. But I would not be surprised that they might expand and create a Two Hearted sub-brand akin to what New Belgium is doing with Voodoo Ranger. They are already have two other 'variants':

• Light Hearted
• Double Two Hearted

Who knows what might be next in this 'series'?

I remember years back the Two Hearted was referred to as "our IPA" on the Bell's website.

It's all over here in PA now. $13.99 for four 16 oz beers vs $17.99 for six. 16 oz of an 11% beer is a little much and I still haven't tried it so I'll look for a single.

 

Local Costco had a case of D2H in 12 oz bottles. Nicely fresh (mid July package date I recall) and priced @ 56.99 I believe. So about $6 savings over equivalent ounces in 4x16oz cans locally. Maybe a nice deal for those who want/able to burn through a case.

 

I HATE mix pack exclusive beers! You always get stuck with the stuff they are trying to unload. Then if you like it, you can't get it.

Seems like just a new add campaign. I'd expect to see more along these lines as the new ownership takes the helm.

about 7 years ago my wife came home from a road trip with her friend and told me, ecstatic, that she had gotten a two hearted at a bar in San Diego and that the bar tender told her bells had just started distributing and was going to be expanding north from there.

I was so excited at that prospect..

Now, if they asked i would advise them not to waste their time.
