Example: Making your browser the entire screen on 27" monitor.

Note: We also just applied a max page width to help.

Anyway, like I said this isn't perfect, but it's a start and just the beginning ...

"In the meantime, we encourage all previous app users to load the site on their mobile devices and continue to provide us with feedback to help us provide a better mobile experience."

I'm sad to see the App go, but looking forward to BA 4.0. As part of making the App more mobile friendly, are there any plans to include pictures in the beer list, similar to the way beers were listed in the App? It was a great way to pass the time, reminisce, and explore beers by scrolling through hads with pics next to them.

    Thanks!

We can definitely add it to our list of features to consider.

I'd love to see that too! I used it as an easy way to determine when a beer I've got needed a picture uploaded.

I noticed an issue with "Beer Hads" within top 250 beers. I recently this past week had 5 beers writhin the top 250 and rated them and they don't show up within the "you had xx beers in the top 250" is that a migration error?

Things i'll miss about the app:

    1. I could see the image of the beer when I was doing a search or looking at my cellar, or any list for that matter without having to click on it.

    2. Search suggestions. Not always I know the exact name of the beer I'm looking for and it doesn't help that the regular site search has such strict search parameters.

    3. The app was always logged on on my phone.

Discussed in this thread already and will be considered.
Searching was almost identical, but we're revamping search for the entire site.
There's a checkbox at log in that'll do the same thing.

The thing I will miss most from the app is the Nearby functionality of Places. Anything similar coming before BA 4.0?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this or it's been covered before but is there a way to view this site in the full format that it used to be in? I don't see the option anywhere and not sure why the change. Never downloaded the BA app before since I didn't find it very easy or quick to navigate and this reminds of that. Can I view the full site or will I have to visit this site less frequently now like I have been since it changed? Thanks

Hello, You may want to note there is a small flurry of users on the Googleplay store that are experiencing the endless "Loading" page without knowing the app has been disabled. You mention that 70% of your users are mobile (I loved the mobile app before) and many of these users are left in the dark. Perhaps an announcement on your home page here may be in order to prevent too many people from ranting and cursing, not understanding the app has been suddenly and permanently disabled?

    Just a thought. Cheers, rogerlb

Don't think you can change it back. But I don't understand when you say you can't see the full site. I think that it looks enough like the old site to not be confusing but a little nicer in quite a few ways, but that's just me. It is crazy how it takes a while to get used to changes like this before you forget what it was like before. Maybe crack a beer for courage and "stumble" aimlessly through it till you get the hang of the new layout??

I don't understand your question. I can get to all of the parts of the site I was using / reading before the change.

What do you mean by "full site"?

I think it looks worse. Why does everything always have to be changed? What was wrong with it? I hate how on the What Beer Are You Drinking the pictures are huge now. Why?

Because it is now responsive/mobile friendly, so if you make your window skinnier, the pictures will now scale with the dimensions of your window. I'm guessing the majority of pictures of beer that people are drinking now are not at their computer desk in front of a computer, and that the pictures are taken with their cell phones. Considering 60+% of web traffic is mobile, it is a more user friendly experience. Additionally, how many times have you been in front of the cooler and wanted to look up a beer on BA before you bought it? That experience is much smoother and easier to navigate now as well.

Appreciate the efforts to upgrade the website. Won't really miss the app much...it was a major pain navigating to the last pages of long threads (never found a "jump to" feature). The new website looks good and nothing seems to be broken or less efficient relative to the old site.
BUT...I still can't embed photos from Flickr into my posts to forum threads using my iPhone! With a desktop browser (Firefox) I would just control-click an image and select "copy image location", then paste the resulting link (ending in .jpeg) into the image field on BA. On the phone, clicking the "share" icon for an image and then "copy URL", produces a link (much shorter and not ending in .jpeg) that, when pasted into the BA field, just puts the URL in my post, not an image. Maybe this is a shortcoming of the Flickr app and not BA, but either way it makes posting to WBAYDN a lot less convenient. Any suggestions?

No. This was covered in the announcement.
