I have to say it looks pretty promising! Oh, and I'm back for now, but like others- not sure how long I'll stick around for- depends on how it looks when all is said and done. Oh, and Zimbo- I can't bloody answer your beermail! Gaaaahhh!!!!

Is there a way of finding out which pubs will have which ales?

nah, sadly- it's very much a random affair. I usually get weirdly lucky with the good ones at my local. I think this one looks like the strongest yet. Very interested to try the Smuttynose mild!

Yes I am partial to a nice drop of mild myself. Have you ever tried Adnams Southwold Mild? One of my all time favourite beers!

That's a shame, hopefully here in the 'diff we'll get some decent ones, there are about 4-5 'spoons in town so I feel a pub crawl coming on.

the 3 stand out beers for me are the Smuttynose Mild, the Nogne Bitter (spelt incorrectly in the listing!!!) and the Russian Imperial Stout . . . . from Russia (whatever next!)

Martin's Pale Ale is a fine beer in bottle form (often have one to calm down with when in Belgium): I'd like to try it on cask.

A Nogne brew made in Wainfleet (at Batemans) sounds interesting too.

    <*))))))><
