New Year Resolution: No More "Official ______ Thread" Threads

    Just that. Other sites are rampant with threads titled like this. Most of these threads are well described and searchable without the words "official" and "thread". To wit: current in the South Atlantic forum is a thread titled Official "I'm Coming to the Masters" Thread. The part in quotes is plenty--it gets the point across and directs interested folks to the topic. It is obviously a thread, so "thread" is completely unnecessary. And the Mods are already good about consolidating and tidying up duplicate threads (which other sites are not) so the "official" designation just seems like hubris.

    Pet peeve. Any chance of having these thread titles zapped and standardized before they ever hit the bandwidth?

    Agree also. Even though you created the "Official no more "official threads" threads thread".......
