New Years in Montreal

    My boyfriend and I are thinking of coming up to Montreal for a couple of nights starting New Year's Eve. Are bars and such open New Year's Day? I'm hearing various things about the city pretty much shutting down.

    Christmas Eve, most bars are closed, but New years day, on a Thursday, no, everything will be open at night. Maybe not at noon on the 1st, but by night time most bars will be open
