This group has been eerily silent recently. Albany to Buffalo BA's- what up?? So many brewing start ups in the upstate region and no reports; chime in my brothers...

Gene McCarthys in Buffalo's Old First Ward is about to start up brewing this summer. The bar was purchased a little over a year ago by Bill Metzger, Publisher of Brewing News, and he is in the process of purchasing the small scale brewing equipment. At the moment, he is taking a $100 donation to join his mug club, which includes a personalized 22oz engraved mug and and an invite to the 'brewery opening' party. Currently, he has 11 taps and tries to keep them as NY only taps but when you are the publisher of the Brewing News, he easily 'runs into' some good kegs out of state and brings them in. Recently he had a nice keg of Fat Heads Headhunter IPA on tap.

Woodcock Brewing Company in Wilson NY opended up about 2-3 months ago. They are set in the path of the Niagara Wine Trail and also serving food. While the pizza is good, the rest of the food is way over priced and the beers so far have been sub-par at best.

Every Buffalo BA Bottle Share is epic... (except for our last one which was an Infected Beer sharing)(although we still cracked open a few great bottles in between all the failures)
