don't trade, drink local. I know, it sounds crazy, but it's true.

Don't put much stock into the trading forum buzz/hype/flavor-of-the-week... I honestly think Rochefort (which is available everywhere) blows the shit outta Westy.

You're in RI? Go to Nikki's, Julian's, Trinity, Track 84... take a drive into MA and hit up Yankee's or Julio's, drive to CT and hit up NEBCO, and keep going to NY to hit Capt. Lawrence and Decicco's for growler fills. You'll have all the beer you ever need and more.

I live in North Providence. Send me a message if you want to crack some beers sometime. It'd be groovy.

What kind of "psychmusic" do you listen to? New or old?

psychology and music are my majors in college... I'll be a senior this coming year. As a music major, I guess you could say on average I listen to old music, but that's largely because so much great classical music was written before 1800

I really appreciate all the advice... ShogoKawada- RI does have some very solid options, and I'll certain avoid trading away any locals without trying a bottle (or two...or five) myself... I actually went to Julios on Friday and bought myself some pretty cool brews, it's a great store

I have been thinking about this "ship first" rule for newbies. I have always assumed that it meant a newbie must ship first, and then the beer must actually be received by the more veteran trader before said veteran will ship. I have around 40 trades under my belt, and have on a few occasions made newbies ship first, and then I have not shipped until the package was received.

Do others take this more literally, as in just ship first and get the tracking number to the veteran, and then the veteran can ship (before actually receiving the first end of the trade)?

What is the consensus on this?

If it's a newbie, they ship first, I received & verify contents and then ship my package. That's how it was for my first trade and how I've done it when helping a first time trader, too.
