It seems both questions have already been answered fairly well by others. I will add, however, that people in the past have sent their main box so that it meets the deadline, and then sent a small second box if there was a hold-out for a specific beer. I like to have the deadline for these type of timed BIFs a little earlier than necessary, because there has been plenty of times where there was an issue with a shipping company, and the boxes didn't get delivered prior to the start of Day 1. Its never fun to be on the outside looking in when the party has already started...
So this is how you learned your #chugs, make complete sense now! I'm sitting here, watching and waiting for the bottles to empty
@Scottsbeer , just go through this thread to the last blind bif. You'll see that there are two pictures for each beer. One wrapped and poured and one unwrapped. The reviews are usually one to two sentences and usually include the words, nice, thank you, tasty, or vanilla. @Eziel usually writes a story, but it's never about the beer and usually about lube he uses on the golf course. It's an incredibly easy process, so don't sweat it. Looking back through the threads will also show you the kinds of beers being shipped. The greatest rule is send a box you would be happy to receive.
@hardysf , Since your post was post #20,887 in this thread I thought it was easier to ask a question rather than read through the thread. I actually quoted an absurd review from BA when I posted as an attempt at humor (I have added some smiley faces to the post now). The instructions stated "each day the target will open the designated package for that day, take a photo and post it on BA, and I guess drink some beer." so it was not clear to me that this was a typical blind BIF meaning drink blind. I am not sweating it and am sure that whoever my target is they will be more than happy with their box (I am sure everybody who has received a box from me will attest to this). I am looking forward to participating here. Cheers.
@Scottsbeer here's a blind I received from @LarkinW https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/newbie-bif-hints-hauls.328811/page-490#post-6676554
Back in the day on a different BIF thread we used to make new people read the whole thing and then they were quizzed about random factoid.... This isn't that group. Pick beers that you'd be happy to receive and are in your targets wheelhouse (based on wants) Wrap 6 beers (at least you could have 2 beers on the same day), take into consideration days of the week if you want (i.e maybe not a 20% 750 on a Tuesday). Number 1 to 6 Include extras if you feel so inclined Ship Then.... Receive your box and be happy. open the box, take a picture of the haul and post here Wait patiently for day 1 to begin, but drink any applicable extras should you choose Day 1 open your beer pour it into a glass, smell it, taste it, and then make a sentence or two of notes on it. Take a picture with it still wrapped. Make a guess what the beer is if you want. Unwrap the beer take another picture post both pictures, your thoughts on the beer, the guess, and any additional thoughts you have about the beer once it has been revealed. Are you surprised by what it is? Is it over or underwhelming? THANK YOUR SENDER Repeat for all 6 days Hope this helps
All I got from ^ that was @Dicers sender better not send a Black Tuesday. But Grey Monday or Mocha Wednesday is 100% acceptable.
I mean if he’s going to drink the correct beer on Monday and Wednesday, shouldn’t Tuesday come along for the ride.
