day 4b smells like a sour with pitted fruit, maybe peaches?! the reveal proves it was refermented with Lulo, which I’ve learned is a member of the nightshade family similar to eggplants and tomatoes! Cool. Cheers @winehead247
Day 4 brings another Bottle Logic! As soon as I pour it I get intense raspberry and chocolate notes with really nice barrel. Paired with a chocolate honey marshmallow bar. I’ve had JTR and this is not the same beer. Reminds me of PCC but with raspberry instead of blueberry. Space Jam! The coconut was very subtle but did present itself as it warmed. Thanks for another great pairing, @BartS!
Day 4 750ml green bottle plain gold cap. Wild/farmhouse ale with some slight funk and cherry. @jschott75 is giving me a break from the big stouts today (and tomorrow based on the bottle). Slightly sour, with cherry, slight funk and nice carbonation. I am sure I have had this before but am enjoying it again.
The reveal. Turns out I have had this but never ticked it. When I popped the cap and smelled it I grabbed my Red Pig Brewery Teku. Red Pig gets some limmit distribution wilds and lambics and in fact has this one on there current bottle list. Funk Factory Cherry Meerts. Great beer and no way to know I have had it. Enjoyed revisiting and now I will rate it. Thanks @jschott75
Day 4 from @Joenap419 was a milk stout with an excellent mouthfeel and an intriguing flavor complexity I couldn't quite attribute: Tree House We're Made of the Same Stardust chocolate and banana imperial milk stout! The banana Laffy Taffy was a huge clue I missed, each day the candy pairing has been phenomenally well matched to the beer flavors, down to the fruit type: Thank you @Joenap419, you are a master curator of quality flavors on this blind tasting adventure!
Thanks @Dicers for this wonderful BA Cinnamon (but not too much) Stout! Guessed the brewery was Weldworks, but not the beer itself.
Day 5, obviously The Lost Abbey from the cage and cork so I thought I had a second day respite from big stouts. Wrong! Big stout with dark chocolate, a little bit of bitterness in the middle and a touch of peppery heat at the end. Paired with dark chocolate with raspberries. No idea what this is but it is very good and the candy pairing is perfect. Thanks @jschott75
Day 4 - Paired with Sugarfina Chocolate bar with Champagne gummy bears Sharp nose, american wild ale with most likely cherry or maybe a blend of cherry and stone fruit. Pretty good overall. Guessing either Creature Comforts or Resident Culture. Creature Comforts - Hickory Diamond. Strawberries didn't even cross my mind, makes sense now that I'm reading it. Good beer overall and a nice change of pace, another good choice from @MTKATL
The reveal, Patron Sinners and Saints club Sinner's Blend 2020! Thanks for the opportunity to have this @jschott75 750ml of 13.7 ABV on a Friday afternoon
Day 4 from @dprice Another big stout. Thick but not as think as day 3. This one is very enjoyable and easy drinking. Boston from Aslin. Another top notch stout from Richmond. DeShawn sending top some of the best from the VA area. Thank you sir.
Day 5 is super thick, rich chocolate followed by vanilla and barrel. No idea what this is but it’s damn good. I had wanted to try this but never pulled the trigger. Very sweet and heavy but tasty. Thanks @Elkevjoe !
Would have guessed some sort of BCBS, but the bottle size had me confused. Reveal showed me this is the oldest BCBS and first Coffee I have ever had. Coffee was subtle, cocoa was nice and it was very smooth. Not overly boozy. The Barleywine also from 2013 was a nice compliment as well, smooth, slightly boozy with some caramel as it warmed. Thanks @Dicers for another delicious day. (Candy was great and will be tasty again tomorrow morning!)
Day 5 from @dprice A corked bottle from Dogfish Head. I had no idea they did that. Dark sour but I really didn't have a guess on what was in it. Shadow & Substance Changing it up on me today. Thanks DeShawn
Day 5 poured thick as motor oil with a huge vanilla nose. Lots of barrel too. NO Idea on the brewery but based on the bottle shape I figured a Scofflaw or Orpheaus? reveal was a beer I’ve never heard of but was glad to enjoy! Really tasty, best so far! Cheers @winehead247
Day 5A from @Joenap419 is a peanut butter delight, a great stout by any measure. My Tree House experience is rather limited and Joe researched what I ticked, so again I won't chance a guest here: Tree House Hold on to Sunshine, an excellent beer and so well paired with Reese's, nice work: Day 5B is much more roasty, with dark chocolate flavors: Tree House Miles To Go Before I Sleep, also a PB stout, but interestingly nowhere near the same flavor level as Hold On To Sunshine. Awesome like up again @Joenap419 and continuously excellent candy pairing job, many thanks for this experience!
It was a great 6 days thanks to @timmy2b Tree House Vanilla Bean Truth Tree House Brighter Than Starlight...the Kit Kat’s were probably for 6A Days 1-5... Day 6 Thanks Tim!
Day 6. A bit of chocolate and barrel, maybe a little nutty. Thanks @Elkevjoe! This was a great six days.
