It was fresh when I tried it. But I will offer an explanation I drank this after drinking a bottle of Hawaiian Speedway Stout during the 12 DOX this year. I will say it is the best coconut beer I've ever had. So I think I may have been overly hard on the Last Snow. I'll also say I was real impressed with MBCP either. I just had a friend offer me a bottle this year again and I actually turned him down. I think I found the maple flavor to be a little off as I tend to find in most maple beers. I grew up with an Uncle that had a large Maple Sugaring operation in VT so I'm spoiled when it comes to looking for maple flavors.
I had MBCP at the fest this year and it was good, not great, but I had palate fatigue. My buddy that I went with cracked one of his the other day and said it was so much better than at the fest. I will say this, my hands smelled like pure maple syrup for awhile after my glass spilled in my hands.
The struggle must be real drinking all those heavy stouts and porters in the Florida sun and humidity. Summer beer fests are a mess up here.
Wait our not spoused o drink stouts when it's warm...... Nothing like a big stout and a cigar on a hot summer nite
#VCS. Been trying to cut back a little on beer during the week but had a health screening at work today and I weighed less than I thought (#humblebrag) so I'll celebrate with a new tick from @Elkevjoe. Really good, much different than the Nelson Everybody Wants Some. This is much more herbal and piney. Thanks Kevin! P.S. Everyone poo poos Sam Adams but these glasses are fantastic.
Yes yes sorry! I wasn't on yesterday. Someone got on my computer then! I hope this works. I have yet to even upload a picture to BA and they make this harder than it needs to be!
Living a mile from the brewery, I've had it many times and love it. There was one is my Round 1 and Round 2 boxes and since they are releasing again in Feb. there will be one in my Round 3 box. Also I can help with this scientific research with some last snow bottles.
Absolutely love the Refused in the background. One of the best punk/hardcore albums ever. Now, I also hope you realize that album is a play on words from a way older Jazz record!
Since @pnelting initially brought this up and adam (@adamgnoth) refreshed my memory, I figured it was time I listened to this. Glad to find it on my Amazon prime music! First impression...Love the music and rhythm's. Production is great in mixing the music with other sources (hope that makes sense). My only negative is that I'm not a huge fan of the screaming singer. Just a personal preference. I've heard it enough, as my brother was straight edge back in the day (Earth Crisis, Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.) I preferred some of the later half of the album better with his singing as it had less of a scream and more of a strain/angst. Will give it another listen or two soon.
Yea, it was def. an album and style of music that was on repeat for me during my angsty teen/20's part of my life. For the record, the Jazz album I referenced was "The Shape of Jazz to Come" by Ornette Coleman. It was insanely ground breaking and also an amazing, but quite different, album. It was released in 1959. There is no better conversation than one surrounding beer and music.
Well @jonbonfondle decided to do a small trade and my box arrived today and I'm getting to enjoy this Size 11 Triple IPA from Steel Toe Brewing. Thanks for a great box Jon!
@Elkevjoe Sent me a box for...well I'm not sure why other than the fact that he's a nice person. I know I sent him a BIF but that doesn't usually require a return trip of the box. Anywho here it is. Jackie O's Cellar Cuvee - I don't know too much about this one but it sounds pretty dope. Jackie O's Vanilla/Coffee Dark Apparition - Dope adjunct stouts from Jackie O's are always welcome in my home. Hoof Hearted - Wangbar, Sidepipin, and Everybody Wants Some (Equinox) Stoked to try some of these crazy orange juice looking IPAs that everyone keeps raving about. Willoughby PBC Porter - Peanut Butter Cup? If so that sounds great and I know my girlfriend will love it. Thanks Kevin. You are a good beer person.
