Overdue Pron Time - Cross Post from Locals As most of you, there was a recent bombing of the Newbies that was organized by an awesome Local. I helped a little bit with some addresses and general FYI. And even though, I've been a part of the Newbie group from the on-set, I tried to make it clear that I did not need or want any beer. Well Locals don't listen apparently and @Mikexw decided to assault my porch in the worst possible way with an amazing selection of wants and awesome beers. First - The little guys 4-pack of Sip of Sunshine (huge want, honestly never had it) Big Mikes - Gassy Baby Breakfast Stout (sounds awesome, glad to have a bottle of Mike's homebrew) Prairie Apple Brandy Noir - want NEBCO - Imperial Storm Trooper Stout Evil Twin - Biscotti Break (love stouts in a can) Second - Some big ol'bottles Grimm - Telekinesis (mmmhhh dry hopped sour) Logsdon - Oak aged Bretta (probably a want, should have been anyways) Grimm - Full Stack (love everything from these guys) HF - Arthur (big time want, need more HF in my life) 2 Different Plan Bee's - I've seen Mike slinging these around and they've always sounded great Mike also threw in 2 sweet glasses, a wrapped mystery bottle (which Mike said is a wishlst), and a shirt that my wife hijacked immediately and I need to steal back. Favorite part of the box was the thoughtful letter that Mike included which had the language crafted for the Newbies bombing and something extra from Mike. Mike, I cant thank you enough for this box, everything is great and I'm happy that I've been able to be a part of 2 awesome groups on BA. Cheers, my friend!!!
Turns out, this baby was The Rare Barrel Ensorcelled!! Big want and man was this great! I was off on the taste, as it was raspberries, not cherries that were used in this dark, barrel aged sour. I sure did get the dark chocolate flavors as I further made my way through the bottle. Loved it!
And I think this is probably the last Newbie anniversary box, from @devilfluff, which was supposed to be delivered on Friday, but due to various reasons I just opened today. It was full of local goodness. I feel bad it took so long and will make it up to Jesse when I see him later next month. Awesome. Brooklyn Brewing Black Ops – Wow! I only had a small pour of this a long time ago, when I first started my craft beer experience. Can't wait to open this. 2SP Dead of Night saison – another new brewery and I love saisons Intangible Ales – hopped Bretty farmhouse ale, yum Tired Hands Rustic Pentagram – sour mango saison, awesome And of course there was a letter: I am very grateful to have joined the BIF experience and Newbies a year ago and I'm looking forward to sharing more great beer. wow. i picked the wrong stretch of days to be not on BA.... you all have been busy! im writing this en route back from an airport; i've been out of town (but got in my fair share of brewskis) and disconnected a bit (finished Hood-to-Coast this past wknd, for anyone in the know) ...but have finally caught up on the thread and madness! the boxes and VBSs have been insane/amazing! glad i could be a part of it! Happy Belated Anniversary, Newbies.. def lookin forward to Year2 !! i'll be sorting thru everything hopefully by the wknd.. cheers ya bums
Love me some Cassian Sunset. I just wish CW would have released more in WI, you know, being where the brewery is and all. I've only had it on tap, and was only to get my hands on 1 bottle, it flew off the shelves as soon as it landed.
Been sitting on one bottle courtesy of @jonbonfondle who threw it in as an extra when we met up. Didn't realize how difficult these were to get, thank you again Jon, might just need to crack it this weekend.
