"Days Of" rounds are always lots of fun. There's no guilt about solo'ing a really nice beer because that's exactly why you received it. It's nice to be forced to not hoard bottles; I think most of us probably have more beer than we'll ever need. I think I have one extra left from @HeartofMiami (Campfire Stout), and I'm taking it to a party Saturday where there will be an actual campfire.
Wow, that was an awesome six days! Sorry for the late post, it took me two days to recover! Day 6: Tart peachy sour, with some sweet peachy rings. Yum! I kind of cheated on this one because I saw the cork said Allagash. Confirmed suspicions: Allagash Farm to Face. One of my wants that I was most excited about! Woo-hoo! And the kill shot: Thanks again @Greeny87 !!!!!!!!!!!! Such an exciting round for me because I got to try a ton of new stuff!! All new beers (all of them delicious)!! Four new breweries!! And I even learned about a new food, the Philly Taco. Although, after that mighty deep dish, I may take a break from pizza for a little while!
Ok, I need to apologize for completely failing to post 6 days of Halloween pics/tasting notes on BA. Here is a summary of the week of awesome beers that @beluga92 so generously dropped on me. First up is the 2nd box that came in the mail with 6 days of candy and a sweet Treehouse Teku! Here is the killshot: Pretty much everything here was a new tick, Stephen did his homework! Among these beers, I'd probably say my top 3 were: Dialed in with Pinot Gris Nancy Vera Mae All were awesome and it was cool to try all the HF stuff. Thanks, again Stephen! I will be looking for an opportunity to pay forward this generosity to an awesome group!
so from the peanut gallery, lots of good combos for you all's, err, yinz's, err, everyone's halloween escapades... the zima bottle was a great thing, loved seeing another Willoughby PBCCP convert, learned that Left Coasters eat real pizza (OEB's deep dish), seeing spreading of the Jackie O's love train, Funky Budda has some really strange flavors, and different parts of the country have some really odd candy choices! I don't get to eat much candy (want to, but can't), but the one that really peaked my curiosity was @JoeyIce3 's pecan log. must be a southern thing? want to do a little candy trade ?
Late to the party. Here is my 6 DoH killshot courtesy of @Elneenee Blown away by this box! Huna, 4 different Jackie O's, Willoughby PBCCP and French Toast. Amazing! Thanks Renee!
Hmm, yeah it has been a little too quiet in here. I'm going to get a LIF going, this will be a quick one and will close down at Midnight on Saturday. I'm not feeling very creative, so just Like this post before Sunday to enter. Open to participants from any of the Newbie BIF rounds, box will go out Monday or Tuesday.
Ninja attack from @jonbonfondle, who, at our Surly meet up few weeks back quietly collected tidbits I randomly dropped about the local breweries & beers I was interested in and accordingly assembled this awesome box: Custom made, thank you, total surprise. Missed out on a Ten bottle on my trip, ran out of time to visit Dangerous Man, left before Abrasive came out, loved any Odd13 I've had, seen good reviews on Sticker Fight and quite excited about Space Ghost spice. Thanks Jon!
And I am the receiver of an awesome LIF box from @jonbonfondle! I love new glarus fruits and darkness has been a major want of mine for some time. Hopefully some of the IPAs hit home too and I've heard great things about the rum king. Thanks @jonbonfondle
Enjoy! I think you'll like the Hopsmack, it falls into the more citrusy category that you seem to prefer.
Had this yesterday, @jonbonfondle gave me the bottle when I was in Minneapolis last month. Great BA pumpkin beer with vice variety of spices. Thanks Jon, dig'em pumkin beers!
