I'm new to Beeradvocate. I try all kinds of beer, and I homebrew. For a long time, I've sent boxes of homebrew and local stuff to friends in IL, OH, and IN, but I never heard of trading as is done here.

I also live in Austin, Texas. That seems to be a big plus. I'm not a fan of sour beers; however, so I don't know much about Jester King or it's offerings (or much about New Braunfels brewing, other than I met the brewers and they were the coolest guys ever, so I bought one of every bomber they had).

Any suggestions from the old veterans here? I would love to trade locals, or if someone clued me in to where I had to be to snag a JK release, I'd be happy to go along.

Thanks for any suggestions! (And I won't be upset if someone points out any nEtiquette violations.)

These 2 might be able to help out with some JK advice and surrounding locals @PatrickInAustinTx, @kmello69 ... There great BA's and won't steer you wrong!

Check out Jester King's website and read that blog link. They release everything directly at the brewery, which is open Friday-Sat-Sunday only for sales. Check their Taproom page for what bottles are available.

JK is the most tradable asset in Texas, so living in Austin gives you an advantage, and even more so if you don't actually have an urge to drink those JK sours. Their 500ml bottles of fruited sours are highly coveted by locals and BA traders.

After that it's watching the trade forums, deciding on what bottles you are interested in acquiring, and trade. Pay attention and don't let someone undervalue your offer, but also watch that you don't overvalue your bottles as well.

I looked at Jester's web page/blog. Y'all probably knew this already. "Bottles of Bière de Blanc du Bois are now sold out."

If anyone has their heart set on something that isn't sold out, let me know. They are open Friday and I can make a run.

    Cheers,
