I'm new to brewing I've done two batches of syrups. That being said I tried to do a 2 gallon all-grain batch. My problem is I added way too many hops and it turned my beer green. Compeleted the boil cooled the batch down and put it in my fermenter and pitched yeast. Anyone have any wisdom on my outcome?
How many hops are we talking here? Pellets break up into a great deal of small bits...which will settle into a sludge at the bottom of your kettle, or fermentor.
That's A LOT for a 2-gallon batch. I did something similar on my first beer too. Me thinks you're going to need to let that beer condition for some time...
Start off by brewing some clones or use the recipe forum here. If you want to formulate your own recipe use a program like beersmith. Also, read the book "how to brew" by John Palmer, which should be your first step if you haven't read it yet. Last advice, don't use so much hops!
+1 to: "Also, read the book "how to brew" by John Palmer, which should be your first step if you haven't read it yet." Cheers!
Yeah, you added a bit much for a 2 gallon batch. How the hops will affect the flavor of your beer will be highly dependent on your hop schedule. However I can say that if the majority of those hops made it to the feremntor, it will impact how much beer you'll be bottling (quite a bit less than 2 gallons).
Not sure of your setup, but maybe brew another 2 gallon batch with no hops and blend the two batches.
