Wondering who knows anything about the new Newburgh Brewing Company...anyone tried their beers or given them a visit yet?

I have had their Peat Smoked Stout, Saison, and Brown Ale. All very good. Their whole thing is to create sessionable beers. The Saison clocks in at only 4% ABV. It is very yeasty, spicey, with none of the sweetness that plagues many American Saisons. I just feel it would be a bit more well rounded if the ABV was bumped up a percentage or two.

The Peat Smoked Stout is very nice as well. Again, it comes in at 4.9%. About as drinkable and refreshing as a smoked stout can get.

So far, nothing mind blowing, but very good beers. The owners seem like decent guys as well. Look forward to seeing what else they come up with.

I just had a few this weekend. I found the cream ale to be ok, average. And the brown ale I thought was exceptional, very good. I'm looking forward to sampling others as they appear in the local bars.

I've only had the brown ale. Filled a growler at my local beverage store, i thought it was very good. Was nice and malty consistent with most brown ales.

Another vote for the brown ale. Had it at the Golden Rail a few months back. Wasn't impressed with anything else they had on tap that night (as far as Newburgh Brewing goes).

i went to the brewery on opening weekend. Big old factory, open space room with the bar at the far end and a bunch of community tables throughout, big windows that open and overlooks the Hudson and Beacon, NY. They were smart enough to put mini bar tops by the windows so that you can put your beer down.

no tasters, $5 pints, 2 wines and soda for the kids. They sell food also.

They now have a Burton IPA, which i havent tried yet that they sell at the brewery for $5 for 13oz.

The tasting room seems like a nice place to hang but a portion city of Newburgh is a dog, lock your doors and up windows.

I wanted to throw this out but any BAs in the Newurgh/Fishkill area interested in doing a tasting on this coming monday, let me know. Myself, CaveDave, and Fujii13 are doing a tasting this coming monday in the Poughkepsie/ New Paltz area...dinner at Gilded Otter before hand and then a tasting nearby (destination unknown). Interested? Then BM.
