These both popped-up in my local tesco this week. Given that all the reviews are from the States and the bottles are 355ml, it looks like Caledonian are shifting some 'craft' beer that's normally aimed at the States on us. Anyone else tried them? I've had the Summer Ale so far and is was actually not as awful as I was expecting. Reminded me of the Summer Ale from the Brooklyn Brewery.

Yeah lol I googled it and the first words that popped out were Heineken USA :stuck_out_tongue: Worth a shot though I think, if I see it. Everybody's tesco seems to be stocking new beers except mine.

I've had the Founders. I think it has some hoppy piney notes blended into a Newcastle Brown. It's certainly drinkable.

On introductory offer at £1.50 each if that helps.

Hmmm. Maybe, but I'm totally maxed out for beer space right now. Even my hiding places are bursting at the seems.

Sounds utterly terrible, I just don't know how you manage to cope :stuck_out_tongue:

Its not just the managing that's the problem. Its the hypocricy of it all. I moan about BAs pontificating about cellaring their beer but I must have a couple of dozen bottles I won't touch because I actually do want them to benefit from a bit of age. God, the guilt...

Ha - I can relate! I have far too much beer, and the stuff I bought back from Belgium recently only adds to the problem....

For the OP - I've picked up both of these but haven't tried either yet.

I had the founders ale when i got in after a night out on Friday. No, I have no idea if it's any good- I was just glad to have not missed my train stop like I usually do.

I can't cellar anything, my dad's like a sniffer dog he always finds my stash. Even my xmas beers last year. He nicked a Mikkeller Porter, Pretty Things St. Botolphs Town, Sierra Nevada Stout & Porter, Struise Black Albert x 3, Williams Profanity Stout, Victory Storm King Stout, Odell Cutthroat Porter, Stone Smoked Porter and Rogue Mocha Porter. :slight_frown: I was gonna have a very dark and tasty christmas but instead had one mostly filled with Marstons Burton Bitter and VB (and a Westy 12 :grinning:).

A clever decoy to protect that Westy 12.

Did you wear it in a shoulder holster like a beer-guzzling James Bond?

Well I've decided to give them a go alongside some bacon jerky.
