    This exactly.

I tried your beer once, and it was bad. I might give it a second shot on tap somewhere, but no guarantee.

I get that you are a new brewery but I don't have a burning desire to fund your growth by buying mistakes. I can get a LOT of good local beer now, and most of it is not in the bomber format (which is strike one against you). If you fail to wow me you won't get a second shot for a long time.

But if you do wow me you will get a couple more chances even if the next beer is terrible (56 brewing I am looking in your direction here people).

In defense of Eastlake I would recommend people give them another shot and visit the taproom. The first time I went was right around their opening in December 2014. I was not overly impressed right away, the beers where "just alright" to "awful." With the awful being the Blueliner, I had actually thought I was poured the wrong beer as it tasted like a mess of a Belgian IPA . Anyway, since then I've been back a few times and bought a few bottles and have been more impressed with their offerings. Doesn't sound like Blueliner has gotten any better, but I'll say it again Good Ol Gnarly is awesome and one of the best brown ales I've had. Which stays a lot as that's not a favorite style of mine.

Never had bottles from Eastlake, but having Gustav Mauler DIPA on tap there was terrific beer. Had some other solid ones too and wouldn't count them out at all at the taproom.

That is a whole different conversation entirely. I've had a number of breweries whose tap offerings were anywhere from acceptable to stellar, only to be hugely disappointed in their bottled offerings. It seems like it's been a struggle for new breweries to get a good product in glass right away.
