From today's Strib article regarding new food options at Target Field:

"The Twins also have expanded their selection of local craft beers, adding Surly, Fulton, Summit, Finnegans and Schell's."

Summit was really the only beer choice the past couple of years so it will be great to have options.

That is awesome! Now, if we could only get the State Fair to follow suit.

What a crock Summit, Schells, Lift Bridge and possibly Finnegans has been already been at Target Field the last few years. Surly and Fulton are the only new beers.

State fair had a Craft Beer section. They had a nice selection of Surly including Hell last year.

Wonderful news. Sweet Child O' Vine & whatever Surly brings on board means I can stop importing beers into Target Field. :grinning:

I'll still import my beverages as I don't feel like paying 18 bucks for a beer, unless it were a 750 of Darkness.

Ill be at the opener, but ill still be sliding a couple Furys in the wifes purse. Wasnt the whole issue a couple years ago that Surly didnt want their beer there if it was gonig to be 12 bucks a can? Maybe its on tap though, and slightly cheaper?

Should have clicked the link first! $7.75 and 8.75 for Surly, per the article. Answered my question, its tap. I think the options are 16oz or 20oz. Could be 12 and 20 though? They only say 'small' or 'large' from what i recall

I think this is one of the articles that was floating around last year:

    http://blogs.citypages.com/food/2011/08/craft_on_draft.php
and a run-down of what they had at the Ball Park Cafe:
    http://www.twincitiesrestaurantblog...e-fair-ball-park-cafe-offers-craft-beers.html

I think there was a different booth/stand that had other crafts too. I think O'Gara's had some craft as well, but I may be remembering that completely wrong.

The one year I don't stop there! We were out there three times and never went there. Oh well, my smuggled Furious tasted just as good (and I am sure it was cheaper). I will definitely be going there next year, though.

Given the cost of BMC at the stadium, can we expect to pay $15+ for a pint of Surly?

I don't necessarily think that it's a crock. I never saw any Lift Bridge last year but did have some Finnegans. Target Center has a much better selection than the Dome does for Vikes' games. All I've been able to find is Summit EPA...the BMC crap is everywhere.
